Romantic hideaway
We stayed at the drovers for a week while touring the wall. What an awesome romantic place. From the wine and chocolates to the great facilities throughout, the flat showed the thoughtfulness of our hosts Ian and Stella for our comfort and enjoyment. Centrally located near both the station and bus stop and with parking off street in the rear it's an awesome place as a base for walking the wall or a romantic live nest. Especially enjoyed the bay window over the Main Street on sunny afternoons. Stay warm and watch the world go by. Sainsburys is less than a two minute walk down the lane and awesome eateries nearby if you don't want to cook. Loved it and will be back

Lovely apartment
We recently stayed at Drovers rest and it was a perfect base for walking Hadrians wall. It was clean, well stocked and extremely comfortable. There is an excellent bus/train service on your doorstep and a lovely pub opposite ( the black bull) The owner was there to meet us on arrival and left us with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates.... thank you very much. We would definitely recommend this apartment and would stay here again should we return to holiday in this area.

Flat is very comfortable and well situated for travelling around the area as both bus and train are easily accessible. The window seat is a pleasant place to sit watching the world go by! All in all a good holiday destination for visiting Hadrian's Wall.

The apartment was lovely with a huge lounge area. The village was very quiet & the local people were very friendly. Walking along Hadrian's Wall was fantastic, the scenery was amazing. We definitely want to visit again.

Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone
We booked a week at the Drover's Rest while walking Hadrian's Wall. It was an ideal location and we manged to navigate every place from Heddon-on-Wall to Carlisle from here. The bus stop is right downstairs, and several buses stop there, most importantly the AD122. The train station is a short walk from the rental. There is a great pub (The Black Bull) right across the square and several grocery stores within short distance, from the Sainsbury's just out back to the local butcher practically next door. When the Black Bull was closed for dinner, we went up to the Mile Castle Pub on the bus and then had a pleasant walk back down, via the road or the burn. The rental itself is very clean and comfortable. Everything is quite new and kept in good working order ? from the clothes washer to the wifi. One of the greatest features is the bedroom window. You can lie in bed and watch the night sky in apparently one of the darkest places around. In May the sky only grew dark around 11 pm and the sky was lightening by 4 am, so after a big day's walk it was pleasant to fall asleep looking at the stars. The folks who own this place are extremely pleasant and accommodating. Yes, we recommend the Drover's Rest!!!
