Everything you could want!
We happened upon this holiday rental by accident when booking a last minute summer holiday. We wanted to be close to Alnwick and Warkworth and this Longframlington property popped up in our search. It needed to be dog-friendly and the promise of a secure garden added to its appeal. When we first entered the property we were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of wine on the table in the beautifully decorated open-plan living space. The bedrooms are large with lots of wardrobe space. The bathroom is a good size with large shower and bath. Plenty of towels were provided. The kitchen area was well equipped with more than enough crockery and cutlery. The fridge and freezer are family-sized so perfect for a week-long stay for 4. The washer-dryer was very handy too. The garden is a lovely size and the views over the countryside are beautiful. Even in the odd rain storm, it was lovely to sit on the bench on the veranda and enjoy the view. It's a 20min walk into the main part of the village where the Running Fox cakery/bakery/cafe is well worth a visit. The village shop sells pretty much everything you'd need and the pub is lovely too. You?re 20mins from Alnmouth, 15/20mins from Alnwick and Rothbury is only 10/15mins away. We have already booked our return visit.

Fantastic stay
Beutiful cottage with patio doors leading into an enclosed garden, with some of the best panoramic views you will ever see. The cottage is immaculate and has everthing to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Complimentary bottle of wine went down a treat. Longframlington is a very friendly village with a fantastic cafe, newsagent, local store, butchers and 2 Inns serving food. Great area for walking dogs and central to Alnwick and Kielder. Big thank you to our hosts and their attention to detail making a truly memorable stay and see you next year.

Central location for Northumberland.
Excellent accommodation in peaceful rural setting. The village of Longframlington is about 1-2 miles away with village shop, bakery/coffee shop, butchers and 2 pubs/restaurants. The lodge is modern, well equipped and spacious with ample parking for 2 cars. There are 2 lodges side by side built in an area to the rear and side of the owners house. We booked this lodge over many others because the description on the Sykes web site said it had an enclosed garden which was ideal as we have 2 dogs and I was recovering from foot surgery so had limited mobility. The garden is only partially enclosed with openings at both sides where young children and dogs could easily escape on to nearby farmland or country lane used by farm vehicles. This was disappointing and put limitations on our time there. The description has now been amended by Sykes after we sent our feedback to them. They do not inspect every property on their books and rely on the description of the property supplied by the owners. I would be very wary of booking with them again without verifying details in the descriptions provided on their web site.

Mrs
WOW!!! What an amazing place this is. We stayed for 5 nights with our 4yr old daughter and our 2 labradors and have serious holiday blues being back home! The house is beautiful very modern but cosy and homely- real home from home with a fresh loaf and a pint of milk on arrival - perfect. The sunsets and views are amazing to watch sat snuggled under a blanket on the huge wooden bench on the beautiful veranda - such a peaceful location but close enough for trips out. The local town is extremely friendly especially to dogs - the most dog friendly place we have found with its own football pitch size enclosed dog exercise area with water and toys provided!!! There is a beautiful dog friendly deserted beach close by with miles of stunning coastline. There's also a stunning lake/woodland walks in the same location - just perfect for those autumn walks. We will definitely be booking another trip here - loved every minute of our stay.
