Not as it seems - please read and take note if wishing to book.
The good points, welcome pack, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits and a bottle of fizz. really lovely animals on the farm. The bad points unfortunately very much outweigh the good points. Tablets left from a previous visitor in a bedside draw Underwear left from a previous visitor in a draw under the bed. Towel rails scalding hot to touch, and advised by the owner to turn off it too hot - which they really all were - be careful. To turn off you needed to stand on a chair as switch over door. New towel rail in one bathroom replaced on last day, however still was scalding hot as no thermostat which is needed. Toaster broken, utensils broken, when reported new ones were supplied however, we were told to bin the damaged ones ourselves and left to dispose of. No wardrobes or draws in two of the bedrooms, please pack light as there really is no storage space. The only room with draws was the twin room and even one of them draws did not open. Clothes were hanging from curtain rails. Absolutely nowhere to dry wet clothes if you have been in the hot tub, unless you use the scalding towel rails, however you then have no room for the wet towels. A completely ridiculous situation. Even a clothes line outside would be a bonus. Then hot tub jets were broken, and whilst they did try and repair them they did by turning off electricity without warning for over two hours leaving my elderly parents unable to watch TV or even make a cup of tea, as parents wanted to stay in whilst we went for a walk. If we had known that they were going to be left without facilities, we would have made alternative arrangements. The parking spaces are on the farm, and there needs to be a warning that your car could be damaged by the animals as ours was. We could go on and on....... Unfortunately, neither Sykes or The Owners of the holiday let are taking any responsibility. This was a holiday to give my mum who is 80 respite care from my father Alzheimers - yet it was a holiday which was stressful throughout. If you do want to book this please do ensure you are fully aware of the lack of space, check the draws, and do not let vulnerable people touch the towel rails. The views are lovely, and with some care and consideration, this could have been such a lovely break away for 6 nights,

Mrs
I stayed here with my sisters for the weekend. After having two holidays cancelled this year, it was wonderful to get away for a few days. What can I say about this place? We were all very impressed from the moment of arrival. Very homely, spotlessly clean, comfortable and plenty of basics to keep you going like tea, coffee etc. The bottle of fizz was also very welcome. Jo was extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble, she is a very likeable, easy to talk to lady. The fresh eggs she gifted us the next morning were delicious, thank you. The hot tub was the highlight of course, this was also spotless and well maintained. We also loved the animals, and Jo provided us with some food to feed the donkeys, which was fun. The views are amazing. We will return next year for sure and we are already looking forward to it.

Perfect getaway!
Set in a lovely location with only a short drive to some beautiful Yorkshire Dales walks and Bronte country. The owners were lovely and everything was done contactless and smoothly, the cabin was spotless and you can tell they have put a lot of effort into making everything as safe as possible in light of the pandemic. We had an amazing time, there are farm animals all around which we absolutely loved (even if the peacock did wake me up at 5am!). Bedrooms are gorgeous and we had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday, the hot tub was the icing on the cake! Would definitely stay again.

Amazing place
We (mum and dad with kids aged 4 and 2) booked The Old Hen Shed because it was my wife and Sons birthday. The cabin is a perfect mix of modern but cozy. Lots of room and facilities. The farm is lovely and we were able to feed the animals with Jo the owner, which the kids really enjoyed. The hot tub is amazing. I have no faults with the place itself and the surrounding area is surprisingly good for young children. However, I think it would be even better for adults alone as there were a few nearby places that my wife and i would love to have gone but couldn't. For that reason we'll definitely be back. I'd definitely recommend a break here in Autumn and Winter. Overall, fantastic.

The sparkling ros? you provided was a lovely treat whilst sat in the very clean hot tub! Will definitely be back. Thank you
