Away from it all
Small village . Two pubs. Kick back your heels and embrace this laid back retreat. Beautifully decorated and equipped. Owners even left some initial supplies and a Bakewell cake. Lovely people lovely place.

The most beautiful retreat cottage!
I came out here because I had some online interviews to do and needed a retreat style place to fully focus. When I arrived I was blown away at the beauty of the interior. It felt luxury and cosy at the same time. Every piece of furniture, every detail was gorgeously thought out and made for the perfect stay. Not just standard things to fill a house, everything down to the mugs were luxury and made me feel like I was staying in someone's lovely home away from home. In terms of Birchover, it's a quiet, little village with kind people around but the walk opportunities are stunning. It was a little walk up the hill to the start of the 9 Ladies work and I had plenty of options to do more if I was staying for longer. The pubs close by are lovely, and equally the nearby villages are beautiful to visit too. Matlock and Bakewell are lovely to wander round and get fish and chips. I can't wait until I can go and stay again- a quiet, peaceful place with the most aesthetically pleasing interior which also makes you feel at home. I would recommend having a bath and then lighting the fire and reading a book. It's the best rest I've had in a long time.

**Amazing stay!!!!**
I stayed at cloudberry for the weekend, looking for a nice relaxed weekend in Birchover. The cottage itself is beautiful. The interior is stunning and spacious. I feel the bath itself should have its own review, fantastic for relaxing after long walks and trips into Bakewell, Cromford and Matlock. The garden is a lovely setting for alfresco dining in the summer. Kitchen facilities are top notch, everything you need for dining in or packing up a picnic to take in the beautiful countryside. Thank you so much for an amazing stay. I can?t wait to come back.
