Superb!
Myself my wife and my elderly mother recently stayed in Pear Tree cottage for our annual Christmas trip to York. Previously we have stayed on hotels close to York itself - I?m so glad that this year we decided to have a change! The moment we collected the key from the cleverly designed collection point we guessed that this would be a well set up establishment. Through the electric gate and directed to our own personal parking spot to unpack our car. We reasoned that the beautiful courtyard would look even more so in the Summer months. We unlocked our cottage - and wow! The first thing my wife noticed was the warmth and the lovely fresh smell. The heating had been set up for us in advance, which was lovely. Walking into the living space and straight away we had the feeling that someone had put their heart and soul into this place! It was so tasteful and clean and beautifully presented. From the complimentary wine left for us, to the cream tea, milk etc all waiting in the fridge. The bathrooms were immaculate, not a speck of dust to be found. The stove fire had all the wood and fire lighters you'd need for a cosy night in front of the smart tv. It really was home from home! The owners of The cottages have the balance just right. Offering visitors a beautiful setting, with everything required for an extremely comfortable stay, at the same time managing to give visitors the utmost privacy ( their home is just across the court yard) I have highly recommended this wonderful gem to my friends and family- I will also be booking next years visit very soon!
