Perfect secluded accomodation for groups We spent a week with family friends at Morridge View. It is a barn conversion of high standard with modern fixtures and fittings, but still felt like a cosy cottage. The bedrooms were comfortable with enough storage. Kitchen was well equipped, stocked with basics and there were a couple of bottles of wines to greet us. Accommodation is ideal for group. Dining and living area had enough seating for 10 people so all of us could dine and relax together. All four bathrooms had shower enclosures which was great. Weather was not on our side, but on one (and only!) sunny day, we had a group lunch outside on a well-equipped patio with beautiful views. Location is rural and isolated which we prefer. There was no mobile signal at the cottage, but there is decent Wi-Fi which worked well in ground floor areas. Ours was the first booking post-lockdown and we found the cottage spotless. Owners were next door and were prompt in responding to our WhatsApp messages (due to social distancing). Check-in and check-out were contactless. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage and would recommend this cottage as an excellent choice for holidaying in the Peak District. Tour14520076025 2020-07-20
50th Birthday I booked Morridge View for my husband's 50th Birthday. There were 9 adults, a 3 year old and a baby. First of all the owners have converted this barn into the most beautiful place to stay, to the highest standard and with everything you needed. Our stay was 3-6 January so the owner had left up the tasteful Christmas decorations for us, making it feel like an extended Christmas break. Kate (the owner) had left wine for us as well as items that you usually forget about (tea, sugar, oil, salt etc), plus dishwasher tablets which was great, also she had recommended a local pub as I wanted to book Sunday lunch. That was The Jervis Arms, about a mile away, well worth the drive (or walk if it was summer). Kate showed us around the barn on our arrival, 3 ensuites and 2 without. Everything worked out perfect for our party weekend. Plenty of room around inside for our grandson to run around. Also wifi, but phone signal is zero so don't get lost! Although she lived adjacent, we didn?t see her again until I knocked to let her know we were ready to leave, so she leaves you to your own devices, whilst at the same time being available if needed. All in all a fabulous stay, beautifully restored to the highest standard. Already talking about how we would like to return! JoanneSC1968 2020-01-06
Just brilliant What a great place to stay, really nicely done barn conversion, party of eight for my 60th, walking from the door, great bike lock up. Couldn?t fault it. Good pub around a mile away with good food. Definitely go back. Spot on info to find location Neil A 2019-01-21
Fabulous! I couldn?t praise this beautiful barn conversion highly enough! The cottage is beautifully, and tastefully, decorated and furnished. Everything to make our holiday comfortable was provided - including tea, coffee, milk and wine to start our weekend. The owners have provided a luxury experience and also a very personal touch - making sure we benefited from their local knowledge to get the best from our stay. You?ll need a car and a satnav to get here but you won?t be disappointed. Lisa C 2018-12-11
