Janet's Foss is a popular waterfall and beauty spot on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Local stories say that a faerie queen named Janet (or Jennet) lived in a small cave behind the waterfall.

Malham Cove is a stunning, semi-circular cliff on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The Cove is 80 metres high, and approximately 300 metres wide. It was formed by the action of water from nearby Malham Tarn rushing over a carboniferous limestone cliff, and wearing away the stone more in the centre of the cliff to form a wide curve.

Mallyan Spout is a 70-foot waterfall, the highest in the North York Moors National Park. The waterfall is reached by a footpath behind the Mallyan Spout Hotel in Goathland village - famous as the setting for the TV series 'Heartbeat'. Mallyan Spout was a major visitor attraction in the Victorian period.

Mother Shipton's Cave is the birthplace of the famous 16th-century prophetess Ursula 'Mother' Shipton. Next to the cave is the Petrifying Well, arguably the oldest paid tourist attraction in Britain, where the heavily mineralised water turns objects to stone. The well and cave stand in the ancient Royal Forest of Knaresborough, landscaped as a pleasure ground in 1630.

The best time to visit is in July and August when the moors turn brilliant purple with blooming heather.

A long, hook-shaped shingle formed by the relentless action of wind and tide. Spurn Head stretches south into the mouth of the Humber. Spurn Head is home to a huge population of migrating birds. The best time to visit is spring or autumn when you can view the migratory birds from a special observatory. The area has been named a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
