Dunrobin Castle photo, Dunrobin Castle

The core of Dunrobin Castle dates to the 13th century, though much of what we can see today is the result of extensive renovations in the 18th and 19th centuries. Dunrobin is the ancestral seat of the Dukes of Sutherland, and stands overlooking marvelous gardens modelled after Verailles. The overall effect is one of sumptuous elegance.
