Lovely house and views
There were 5 of us staying at this property, booked by my in-laws, and it was a very lovely property. Fairly modern and spacious. The views from the window were lovely and with binoculars you could see harbour porpoises and otters from the bay window. There were lots of birds right outside the window also and a resident buzzard who could be seen most of the day flying by. We were even treated to a sea eagle flying by. The property was very clean throughout, apart from the kitchen cupboards and worktops which came up lovely after a quick clean. You could get down to the water however this meant walking along the main road which ran along behind the house. We were able to film some footage of otters on the water's edge, which was amazing. The only downside to this location was the road noise, which started early in the morning and continued throughout the day and late into the night which meant interrupted sleep, as the main road is less than 15 yards behind the property. If it had not been for this, I would recommend it.

Lovely cottage ruined by the unpleasant host
My family's lasting memory of our recent trip will be the disgusting attitude of the owner's representative who was as grossly unpleasant as she was unprofessional. On our departure day, the woman allowed herself into the property via the locked front door at 9.50am and then proceeded to openly insult my wife, in front of my son and daughter, as we were "lazy, lazy people" who "can't read simple instructions" (the departure time was 10am). When my wife explained that we hadn't realised her rules were quite so rigid but if she'd allow us 15 minutes, we'd have the bags packed into the car and the property tidied to the standard we found it, she was dismissed again as "lazy" and told she should have "got up sooner". When I suggested that her shocking treatment of guests wasn't exactly best business practise she laughed it off stating: "we're booked through all next summer". What made the entire episode more galling was the fact that she wasn't even expecting her next unsuspecting customers until the following day, so she'd literally gone out of her way to show up early and show my children that the Isle of Skye isn't just scenic walks, fun adventures and natural beauty. When I told her I would apologise to my kids for having the misfortune of meeting such a rude woman she replied: "They'll meet much worse than me in Glasgow," which I felt summed up her view of the her lower-class guests, who should be more obedient when they are allowed to pay through the nose to stay at her property. Otherwise, Riverside Cottage is a cosy, modern, well-equipped home in a magnificent location.

Perfect cottage
This cottage is perfect in every way. Location is only 10 mins north of Portree. The views over Snizort Loch are amazing. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need. The welcome we receive was great and the owners were very flexible on key pick up time. Lovely touches like fresh flowers and chocolates.

Absolute perfection
Perfect cottage - the location, the views - a perfect place to relax and unwind. The cottage is a very high spec and has everything you need for a perfect break. The location is wonderful and you are close enough to Portree for it's shops, restaurants and supermarket. I would recommend this cottage to anyone. The cottage owner is welcoming and very flexible with arrival times.
