One of two cottages converted from a barn built in the 1800s, this property is situated on a working livestock farm and offers comfortable and inviting accommodation for groups of up to six people.

With enough accommodation for up to six people, this cottage offers an excellent base for families. There is a games room for the younger guests, including a pool-table, table-football and table-tennis. Pine floors and exposed beams give the cottage a snug and welcoming feel.

Spacious and comfortable cottage, great for kids
Downstairs is a large sitting/dining room with comfortable sofas and a large dining table. There is also a large kitchen which is reasonably kitted out. The bedrooms upstairs are good sizes. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are acceptable. There were some problems with the showers when we stayed but hopefully the owner will have fixed them. Outside is space for kids to play. The outside play equipment is a little old but the kids still had fun on the trampoline and playing football. We managed to find enough things to do in the surrounding area. Chester is great for a day trip as is Llandudno.

This is one of the best cottages we have visited over the years. We enjoyed being on a working farm and loved the walks right from the front door. The cottage is situated in the country side but so close to interesting towns and cities.

Hen Cottage is a very homely place to stay and tastefully decorated and in a very quiet location. . The adults loved the table tennis! Lovely owner too.

Hen Cottage is a great base for sight-seeing in the Wales-Cheshire borders & further afield. We will definitely consider returning & have already recommended the cottage to our family.
Mrs Laverty

It was lovely and huge, so there was plenty of space for the four adults, three-year old and baby. The area is very interesting and we visited Chester Zoo which is top standard and also the lovely N.T. house and wolf's den grounds at Erddig. It was only five miles away from the cottage and absolutely unique.
