Lovely cottage close to the beach A lovely cottage close to the beach (@5min walk) and close to Tenby. On a nice day you could easily walk into Tenby along the beach (@20 mins).
The house is clean and well presented with a small patio area and easy parking. There is a pub across the road that does food and a surprisingly well stocked local shop!
There is no wifi which made our stay very relaxing as none of us could be tempted to work! However, I did get 4G signal on my phone.
The property was surprisingly warm even when the heating wasnt on which was great as there was a cold snap and also very quiet.
Would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing holiday in a quiet village but really close to all of the action in Tenby. Linzcharlton 2019-03-04
All Good. After reading one or two reviews we had some concerns.. However we would return, the cottage was very central with good parking and in easy reach of Tenby. Crown Cottage it?s self was lovely inside and out, the small lounge was cosy and the kitchen area well equipped for our needs. Personally we didn?t spend loads of time at the property we were out most days making the most of the dry weather. We were already aware that the property did not have WiFi from the Sykes description of the property and found the owner very helpful when arranging key collection from her. Don?t be put off by negative reviews. jaimee532 2019-01-23
Lovely cottage, great location but needs a little attention Our first impressions were very favourable. The cottage is light and airy and was well cleaned and decorated throughout. However there is no garden, only a patio which needed a good clean.
The kitchen diner was well fitted although the door on the dish washer appeared broken as it was very heavy to open. The door did have a large warning sticker though.
The sitting room was attractive but only comfortable seating for 4 people and the fire had a large out of order sticker which was a shame as it would of been nice to use in the evening. However the cottage was warm with efficient central heating and hot water.
We all found the beds to be uncomfortable, the king bed has a lumpy mattress and the duvet was too small for the bed so virtually no overhang at the sides. The double bed was too soft and has been broken at some point with a temporary repair done.
There was no welcome pack of any sort, no guidance as to how things work, rubbish disposal, etc. We found the lack of wifi irritating after a while especially as the 4g kept dropping out. Made planning our days difficult.
You will need to take all your own supplies, soap , washing up liquid, toilet rolls etc as nothing apart from two toilet rolls were supplied.
There is a handy shop a few minutes walk if you turn right from the cottage. There are two pubs in the village, one is opposite the cottage and if you are early to bed you may find some noise on a few evenings. Parking is good, right outside the cottage door, one allocated space at the back and two visitors spaces as well.
There is a beautiful beach a few minutes walk over the golf course and its a nice walk into Tenby, either along the beach at low tide or via the footpath close to the railway track. There appeared to be a good bus service through the village.
This is a lovely cottage just needs some attention to sort out the minor repairs and the lack of wifi and uncomfortable beds needs addressing dianab55 2018-09-22
Wonderful 2nd stay Crown cottage is a pretty property in the heart of Penally village, always well maintained and clean for the money paid. Not much in Penally just a pub across the way from the cottage but we went into Tenby most days to make the most if the beach. The only issue would be there's no garden just a small yard area. Always find the owner very accommodating as we book direct with her, would recommend will go back. kitten831906 2017-07-06
Peaceful Perfect location, peaceful surroundings and a lovely holiday. Would recommend wifi installed so that we can easily check weather forecast etc or emails, but that was the only small downside. Everything else was amazing and extremely clean on arrival. Location perfect with views of Caldey Island and a beautiful beach nearby. Will definitely be returning. SuzHasler 2016-07-08
