This detached cottage is situated on the edge of the village of Caergeiliog and sleeps four people in two bedrooms.

Cefn Farm Cottage is a lovely detached cottage on 14 acres of pastureland, on the outskirts of Caergeiliog village on the Isle of Anglesey. This cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, consisting of one double and one twin, as well as a bathroom. The cottage also has an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area.

Outside there is off road parking for three cars and an enclosed lawned garden with hot tub, furniture and barbecue. Cefn Farm Cottage is an ideal retreat for families who wish to enjoy time on the beach, watersports or exploring the Coastal Path.

Greatly disappointed.
The cottage was actually very nice, 2 good sized bedrooms, bathroom and and a kitchen/ living area. The cottage is nicely decorated and is modern. The double bed was very comfortable. Check-in went smoothly and the owner was lovely, she left a packet of popcorn and welsh cakes for us, which was a nice touch. The owners live next door in the farmhouse, and the farm is used as an equestrian centre, so there are horses in the field directly behind the garden, which was nice, however, on Sunday there were young girls practising showjumping, which means the hot tub is in plain sight. The garden is small, but nice and there is a view to RAF Valley and a little lake (this you can hardly see).During the week, you can see the fighter jets taking off and landing, which is good and they don't fly on a weekend.. The only gripe we had, was that we were not allowed to use the hot tub, when that was the only reason why we chose to stay there and as such our weekend was ruined! We also did not receive any warning that we could not use the hot tub, until I texted the owner, whilst we were at the cottage. The garden could do with a couple of deck chairs or comfortable seating for when the weather is nice, as the benches provided were uncomfortable for long periods. Please be warned- there is only a chinese takeaway in the village and no other facilities. So nothing to do on an evening unless you intend to drive. As we could not use the hot tub, we were stuck in the cottage, with not a lot to do, as it was too chilly to sit out at night. There are some lovely beaches in the area, and I would recommend Treaddur Bay and Cemaes bay, but there is little else to do. Beaumaris is a lovely town, but unfortunately the castle and the gaol were not open due to Covid restrictions. In Wales, you can only eat/ drink outside bars/ restaurants and i am not joking when i tell you that we could not get in any, in all the places we visited, so if you intend to eat out please ensure that you book. There are a couple of pubs and a hotel in Treaddur Bay, but we couldn't get in any and the fish and chip shop was not open when we visited so nothing to do except the beach. Anglesey is lovely, especially if you like beaches and water sports, the beaches were packed but the carparks were too full, so you need to get there early. Had we had use of the hot tub, our experience would have been much better. Due to the covid restriction please ensure, you check what is open in advance.

Having read the mixed reviews on this cottage I have to say that the negative reviews are inaccurate. I stayed for 3 nights and found everything to be acceptable. The hot tub was great with a privacy fence running alongside the decking. We had an excellent view of the open fields from the back door and the garden was very pet friendly. The garden is totally enclosed. You cannot see the owners from the hot tub. It is not a working farm but they do have horses. Which my children loved seeing them in the fields. There was no noise from the owners activities. A great spot for plane spotting and easy access from the A55. Yes the cottage is small but I would say it is cozy. We had no issues with the beds or bedding and no smells as some have mentioned. We found the owner Julie to be welcoming and was helpful in directing us to local places to go. The cottage does what it says on the tin. Cozy and warm. The decoration is good. We had no privacy issues whatsoever and hardly saw the owner. I would recommend staying at this cottage, a great spot as you are not on a street but in a lovely rural spot. Being on a farm style property is great. There is a great Chinese takeaway in very close distance.

Awful and not as advertised
When we booked this property it was described as a detached cottage, they have since changed the description. We were surprised when we arrived to see what looked like a converted garage (see picture below) and then how small the property was but thought we would get on with it. The furniture in the lounge was really uncomfortable and the smell in the bedrooms made us all feel poorly, particularly the twin room which was overpowering. The double bed mattress was broken and had springs sticking out and the wardrobes and bedding smelled musty. My clothes that had been hung in the wardrobe also stank. There was a bright security light blaring into the bedrooms that the owner refused to turn off and the back fence was not enclosed as described. We left a day early and called Sykes Cottages to let them know how unhappy we were - their response was that the property owner wouldn?t entertain a refund and had said that we were lying about everything. I?ve since reported Sykes to both Trading Standards and Advertising Standards. They sent someone out to check the property and the description has now changed and they offered us a paltry £50 ?gesture of goodwill?! We spent over £500 on this holiday and it was absolutely awful. I am upset that they were allowed to miss sell to us and then the owner is just allowed to not give a refund. The booking process was terrible from start to finish - when we originally booked Sykes called us and said that the owners wanted to let us know it was a working farm and it may be loud, also they asked if we were planning a NYE party. I said no but if we were both worried about noise then we would be absolutely happy to book somewhere else? The owners then said no - we won?t refund you so we just said fine and proceeded. That all just seemed unnecessary and seemingly the owners have no flexibility or customer service skills so not sure why they continue to let this property out?! I won?t ever book with Sykes Cottages again and would warn others about booking this property. It is not what I would refer to as a cottage.

Stayed Fri 6th to 13th July, very quiet place, loved the hot tub after walking all day with are dogs, the valley village nearby is also good 2 chip shops 2pubs,a Chinese burger bar and pizza place all in all I very pleasant stay

Not Good
The place itself was nice but the owner lacked good customer service skills she didn't give us a very warm welcome which surprised us and albeit the accommodation was comfortable the hot tub caused too much drama and was a bit dangerous as it was perched at the end of slippy decking and had wobbly steps into it also there was an extreme lack of privacy we cud not relax as the owner constantly appeared whenever we went to use the tub so unfortunately this was not the relaxing break we had hoped for as we felt we were constantly being watched I would not recommend this venue if u are looking for a relaxing break
