Lovely cottage with stunning seaviews
We had a wonderful week at your lovely cottage. It is in such a stunning location, my partner and I loved the fact it was still very quiet and the closeness to the beaches. We popped by the Ship Inn almost every day and took some of their locally brewed beer home with us to enjoy when we think back on this beautiful part of our country.
We were able to sample plenty of local produce and explored the area both on foot to Craster for the famous crab sandwich lunch and back, and via a short car journey enjoyed visits to Seahouses, Bamburgh and Berwick too. A regular feature was an evening walk round Newton Point where we were lucky enough to observe a couple of barn owls hunting every night, saw a stoat and watched dolphins out at sea (albeit through our binoculars). The variety of bird species to watch was second to none!
Appreciating we were one of the first visitors to the area since the easing of lock down restrictions and a lot of the facilities only starting to open up to the public we found most shops and amenities to be open for business. Luckily the weather paid its part during our stay and a boat cruise out to the Farne Islands was certainly our highlight. Observing guillemots, kittiwakes, shags and a personal favourite of mine, the puffins fishing, roosting on the cliffs, or just bobbing on the water. Absolutely priceless!!!
We will be back - and that's a promise.

The view was everything I remembered and we all loved coming home to such a beautiful cottage after each wonderful day. It was big enough for us and the location was the best we've ever had. The village is a little retreat and very easy to enjoy. We felt very much at home very quickly.
