Jack's Hill is a wonderful detached cottage located one mile from the seaside town of Ventnor on the lovely Isle of Wight. This cottage sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, consisting of three king-size doubles, one of which is on the ground floor, a double with en-suite shower, and a separate bathroom. The cottage also has an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area, and a landing area with table football.
Outside there is off road parking for three cars and a decked area with furniture and a barbecue. Jack's Hill is a wonderful place to stay with sandy beaches, bracing walks, and lovely gardens nearby.

Top Marks Stayed here mid Sept, 4 adults & 2 young children (1 & 3 years old). Lovely holiday home. Stylish, modern accomodation, light & airy. Clean & very well presented. Well equipped kitchen. Nice modern bathrooms. Main bathroom very big with bath & seperate double shower.
Glass spiral staircase is stunning however not the best with young children but we knew this when we booked.
Lovely location to explore the island. Close to Ventnor seafront. Less than 5mins drive & 20-30min walk depending on pace. Steephill Cove a short walk away.
There are lots of cobwebs around the place which I feel could have been cleaned as otherwise the place was very clean. I could understand the odd cobweb or spider due to the wooded area behind the property but they seem to have built up a fair bit. Another issue was we were only left 2 dishwasher tablets for a weeks stay. As we don't have a dishwasher at home we didn't have any to bring. I feel 1 tablet a day would be a reasonable request if providing a dishwasher. Minor flaws which don't detract from this fantastic property. Highly reccommend. rachxhill 2017-09-19
Great house for a family group We stayed here as a group of 6 adults and a 2 year old. On arrival we arrived at 3pm which was check in time but the cleaners were still in doing the last of the cleaning they said they would be 45 mins so we used the toilet and parked up the cars and a few of us wondered off to see the area Which is where we found steep hill cove which was very nice indeed. After about 45mins we walked back up to the house and was able to get in.
The house itself was in a residential setting and as soon as you walk in you have a wow factor of the spiral staircase and the open feel of the house with the big bifold doors onto the decking area which we used for our evening bbq 's. We used 3of the 4 time provided and were all very happy with the size of the rooms which were huge the bathroom was of high standard. The only thing I may of done is in the upstairs bedroom with the balcony put it's own ensuite in as the room was so big and the bathroom was next door so would be easy to do. The kitchen was very modern and on trend and perfectly big enough for the family to use and not be in each others way. It came with all the necessary equipment for everyday use. We had a tesco delivery which was great for stocking up the American fridge ready for the week stay. The house is in a great location with all the major attractions on the ism of wight in easy reach we loved the monkey haven especially. The house in the evenings was great to with the table football area upstairs and the sofas downstairs for family only downside was the sky being in the bedroom for the main tv so couldn't change tv channels that easy. House all in all was fantastic for a family holiday with nice areas for everyone to be together or if you want some quite time there was areas for that to. Fabulous contemporary, well equipped, spacious property The accommodation was first class in every way and no expense had been spared with the fixtures and fittings. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with plenty of high class crockery (all Denby), cooking utensils and cutlery. Everywhere was spacious, extremely clean and the contemporary decor made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. It was by far the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in, and so well equipped (with a large american style fridge freezer and quality range cooker) that we chose to stay in and cook several times rather than going out to eat. Two of the bedrooms were huge, and the light, airy, feel of the place meant that our party of 3 couples and 1 toddler had plenty of personal space. In fact we were able to invite another party of 5 people (who were staying nearby) round for a meal one evening, as there was ample equipment, space and seating plus a dishwasher to take care of the washing up. It was very untypical of a normal holiday let and it appears that it was not originally built, or fitted out, with the rental market in mind. It was slightly out of the way, approx a 25 minute walk to Ventnor, with a steep hill to climb on the way back, but this did not spoil our enjoyment of staying in this fantastic house. This was one of the very best holiday homes we have ever stayed in. It was new and very modern, we could not fault it. The whole experience was excellent. The owners were helpful and friendly. The location was also ideal on the island. Mr Coe 2015-06-17
Lovely spacious and modern house We rented this property for 7 people which included 3 children aged 8-11. The property is very modern and spacious and well equipped. Good location although not within walking distance to anything, you do need to have a car. It is located on Steep Hill and it really lives up to its name so beware.
We were particularly impressed with the amount and quality of board games, books and lego supplied for the children. The table football went down exceptionally well with the children and big kids (men).
The garden is a lovely sun trap with the back of the house opening up fully, great for an afternoon or evening drink. It is a shame there isn't a view of the bay as this would make it perfect.
Our only criticism is we had to wash glasses and cutlery as they were very greasy. There was even a spatula which had been used for frying and put back in the drawer without cleaning. This I am sure was an oversight by the cleaners and the remainder of the property was immaculate. There is a dishwasher but you need to bring your own dishwasher tabs and toiletries are not provided.
We would return and we would recommend to others. The property would have received a higher rating had it supplied luxury toiletries and we did not have to do a lot of washing up before using some of the equipment. devinelisette 2015-06-05
