Family stay
Weve just returned from a family stay at Oakbank Farm, 5 adults and 6 childten. Its a lovely area and the house is great, it has all the facilities needed for a home away from home. Spacious kitchen and living area with a smaller library room downstairs with two more floors of bedrooms and a games room on the second floor also. There is enty of shower and toilet facilities with most of the bedrooms being on-suite and the hot tub in the garfen is a nice touch despite it being abit small (only seats four comfortably). My only complaint about the house was the general cleanliness and maintenance, there were cobwebs everywhere ! The house could do with a proper deep clean as when we moved the couch to look for one of the childrens toys under there the amount of dust and food waste was disgusting. The bathrooms and blinds could do with some general maintenance and some of the electrical sockets came away from the wall when you unplugged things.
Apart from this its great and would highly recommend the area for a holiday.

Lovely Family Birthday Weekend
We have just had a lovely family birthday weekend. it was my Mums 80th birthday and we booked the cottage for 3 nights to give her, and us, a few days holiday with all of the family under one roof. We couldn't all quite fit, there's lots of us, but over the weekend we had a lot of fun and a lot of visitors.
The house is beautiful with pretty much everything we needed including a (very rare) excellent corkscrew! Everything was clean and in good order, with lots of space.
Only niggles were small, the lights in the kitchen need some attention and it was odd not to have any kitchen roll or a pint of milk in the fridge, and it was a birthday weekend but no welcome fruit basket or bottle of plonk, but everything else made up for the niggles.
Highlights included a well maintained hot tub with views across the countryside, a fierce wood burning stove in the main living room and friendly neighbours that gave us apples to make a pie.
The local village is pretty with a decent pub, the Ribchester Arms, for hearty (huge) plates of food and a funky (yes, funky, but in a good way) garden centre and restaurant serving excellent quiche, a wine 'shed' with an extremely good selection and other little shops and treats.
We had a wonderful weekend and my Mum loved it, a perfect little break.
