With the Pennines on one side and the Lake District on the other, Todd Hills Hall Farmhouse is a walker's delight. The traditional farm house is set within the Rowley Estates farmland, so there are fields and superb views on every side.

The rolling landscape and bubbling brooks of the Eden Valley create one of the most beautiful landscapes in Northern England, and a stay at Todd Hills Hall Farmhouse puts you right at the heart of this magical region. The traditional farm house is set within the Rowley Estates farmland, so there are fields and superb views on every side. There are walks right from the front door, and views from this comfortable and superbly appointed sandstone farmhouse stretch in all directions.

The owners have furnished the farm house to an extremely high standard, with six en-suite bedrooms, two wood burning stoves and an Aga as well as a side-by-side fridge in the kitchen. The dining room table even converts to a half size snooker table, so you can all enjoy an evening or two polishing up your potting skills. The chances are though you'll end up in the kitchen, with the cosy Aga, granite topped island and wood burning stove as the perfect backdrop to sit and chat.

The closest village is Melmerby, which has a welcoming pub, a village shop and a tea room. There's even an indoor pool in the village, so you don't need to go far for your exercise. Further beyond Melmerby is the beautiful and sinuous Ullswater Lake with its historic steamer boats, glorious walks and of course, swathes of the daffodils that inspired the poet William Wordsworth.

This is an outdoor lover's paradise, and there's plenty of opportunity to enjoy everything from sailing to pony trekking during your stay.
