Georgian stone cottage in the heart of Beaumaris. Large
walled garden, period features. Wifi, close to castle, shops,
and restaurant.
Church Cottage is a lovely Georgian listed holiday house nestled in the heart of the wonderful seaside town of Beaumaris, on Anglesey. The house is full of character everywhere you look. Modern fixtures and fittings tastefully contrast with the period feel of this traditional holiday house, demonstrating the care that the owners have taken over its sympathetic restoration.
There are so many things we love about Church Cottage that it's hard to list them all, however, one of our favourites is the outlook from the conservatory, which overlooks the large walled garden (rare in Beaumaris!) or catching a glimpse of Snowdonia above the slate roofs of Beaumaris from one of the bedrooms. Modern, well equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher washing machine, tumble dryer and a microwave From the kitchen you can head out into the garden. The breakfast room is a bright space, with a garden outlook.
The larger, more formal dining room also has views out to the garden. The main sitting room has plenty of space for the whole family with comfortable seating and a TV. There is also a smaller 'snug' with a fire.
There is also a TV in this room with a DVD player. On the ground floor are two loos. Stairs lead up to the bedrooms, a double with ensuiteshower room and a twin bedroom to the front of the house overlooking the Church opposite.
Two interlinking bedrooms at the back of the house have views over the garden; The double room has a super-king sized bed. The single room has an additional trundle bed, which can be made up by prior request. Family bathroom with bath, shower, loo and wash hand basin.
To the rear is a lovely, private and enclosed garden with a mix of trees and shrubs. It's a lovely, tranquil space in which to relax and recharge your batteries on a sunny afternoon. Church Cottage also has the added benefit of off-road parking for one car comfortably but it is possible for two small cars to fit if you don't mind the space being tight.
Beaumaris is a lovely, historic town and has so much to offer that it is difficult to know where to begin! There are plenty of shops to wander and windows to browse - Janet Bell's art gallery is well worth a look. The Brasserie is just a few minutes' walk away, and with so much choice for places to eat, Beaumaris is the perfect holiday base! The Pier House on the front is just about the best location in North Wales to sit and read your morning paper. The views looking back over the water towards Snowdonia will take your breath away.
If you want to venture slightly further afield then consider the glorious Plas Cadnant Gardens; set in 200 acres of land, the blooms in this historic garden are well worth viewing. From here you will be able to easily explore not only the rest of Anglesey but venture across to the mainland, see Snowdonia and explore the Llyn Peninsula too.
