St John's Jerusalem
St John's Jerusalem

St John's Jerusalem is a 13th-century chapel that was once owned by the Knights Hospitaller. The chapel is surrounded by a moat fed by the River Derwent, and set in peaceful gardens.

The chapel was built in 1199 as part of a Commandery for the order and later part of the Commandery was converted into a dwelling house.

The house is occupied by tenants, but visitors can see the chapel and the gardens. Free parking.
