This lovely old clock stands above the entrance to the Fortnum and Mason shop on Picadilly. When the hour strikes, the doors open and the figures of Mr Fortnum and Mr Mason emerge and bow to each other. Well, that's the theory, anyway. This photo was taken just as the hour sounded, but sadly, no painted figures emerged. Perhaps they were having mid-afternoon kip.
