London photo, Victoria Memorial

There are a lot of monuments to Queen Victoria around the UK. This is probably the best known, as it stands on a large island in the Queen's Gardens, at the end of The Mall, in front of the gates to Buckingham Palace. The memorial was designed by Sir Thomas Brock, and built in 1911. The statue that tops the monument represents Victory.
