Aberlemno is a small village on the main road between Forfar and Brechin. The most famous historic attraction associated with the village is the Aberlemno Sculptured Stones.
There are four stones; the largest stands in the churchyard and is best described as a cross-slab decorated with Pictish symbols and interlaced pattern carving. Three other stones, dating from the 7th to the 9th century, stand by the roadside.
About nine miles away is St Orland's Stone, another well-known sculptured stone. Much closer is Restenneth Priory, an Augustinian priory founded by David I, while about three miles away is the Finavon Doocot, a 16th-century dovecote thought to be the largest in Scotland.
