A traditionally built cottage with accommodation for up to four people, this property combines that classic cottage feel with stunning views of the local countryside.
Originally part of a working farm, this cottage has been delightfully converted to offer accommodation for groups of up to four people. It retains many original features such as exposed beams, slate flooring and a wood-burning stove to relax in front of on chilly winter evenings. This atmospheric hideaway is served by stunning views of the Langdale Pikes and is close to a number of walks and cycle-trails.
The living accommodation has been designed in an open-plan style and there is a well-equipped kitchen although, should you decide to have an evening out, the local pub is only a mile away.

If only someone cared It's a great location and there's a stunning view of the Langdale Pikes from the window of the living room but that's about all this cottage has going for it. Sadly it is too poorly equipped and too poorly cleaned to justify the fairly high rent. All of the cutlery, crockery, utensils etc. are of a quality that you would feel embarrassed taking to a charity shop. There might be a 'new' big screen TV and Sky box but both are quite ancient and have clearly been dumped in the cottage when they were replaced with better models elsewhere. No thought at all has been given to equipping the cottage properly. For example there is a floor lamp in the corner between two settees which is operated by a foot switch which you can only get to by literally climbing onto the settee and leaning over with your hand. There is a broom in one corner but no dust pan or hoover that we could find so if you want to do the decent thing and keep the floor a bit tidy your only option is to sweep the dirt into a corner. The fridge didn't seem to work too well possibly due to the big hole in the side.
The 'small library of books' mentioned in the description is just a dozen or so old books on the window sill but if you wanted to read one you'd need to brush off the cobwebs and dirt first. Don't move the side table by the settee either unless you are happy looking at all the cobwebs and dirt around the legs. Maybe this is considered quaint for an old cottage but quaint and clean are not exclusive. Great pity really as this could be a very nice cottage if only the owners cared about it.
For a cottage at this price you expect cleanliness, decent equipment and some thought into making the place as comfortable and convenient as possible but, sadly, this is all lacking. Still there's that great view from the side window but don't bother looking out of the front window as that just overlooks the rubbish bins. The owners can't even be bothered to put the bins round the corner out of sight. Jet25948242266 2019-06-30
We've been to Fell Foot Cottage before and returned because we love its isolation and silence at night, and being able to walk from the door of the cottage. It's comfortable and a perfect place to collapse after a long day in the hills. Mrs Butler 2016-06-20
The cottage was perfect for the location; cosy, quirky and full of character. The views from every window were spectacular and we had many fantastic walks straight from the doorstep. The log burner was a treat to come back to and we spent quality family time relaxing in the most perfect surroundings. Would definitely recommend to anyone who appreciates getting away from it all. The views from this cottage are spectacular! We've stayed at the lakes several times, but Fell Foot gave us seclusion. You are minutes from the shops and several great spots, yet far enough away to feel alone in the hills. Walks from the cottage are terrific, and it's right at the start of Wrynose Pass. We'll definitely return. Mr Little 2015-07-11
I Loved the atmosphere of the cottage and it felt very welcoming after a day out on the fells. I Highly recommend this cottage. Mr Hodson 2015-06-30
