Wonderful clean warm cosy accomodation, beautiful unspolit area, greeted by red squirrels and deer outside the kitchen window every morning at breakfast, loved the peace and tranquility, amazing walks nearby, loved having no tv mobile signal or wifi, just the break we needed. Would highly recommend. Excellent value for money.

Fantastic !
Gorgeous cottage tucked away in a stunning setting,no TV no WIFI. Abundance of wildlife and walks. Cottage well equipped with everything you could need, cosy and warm on chilly nights. A real de stress from day to day life.Loved it! We biked Glenlivet, walked and skiing a few miles away at the Lecht.

Contact with the owners was positive and information was accurate. They really do look after their guests. Myrtle Cottage is in a fantastic location, there was real seclusion yet it is close enough to amenities. A genuine haven for wildlife. We will return and stay for 2 weeks next time.

This was a great location for a holiday with a dog. It was good for walking and seeing birds and animals. It was within easy travelling distance by car to all local towns.

Excellent accommodation in rural location
Before writing this review I was tempted to say nothing at all about this gem of a cottage, albeit, purely for selfish reasons - I wanted to keep the place a secret! Myrtle Cottage is without doubt one of the best places that I have stayed during my various stays in the Cairngorms. Its abundance of wildlife, including the Red Squirrels and the elusive Pine Martin, were an absolute delight. The owners, Phil and Jenny, were great, as was the welcome cake and bottle of wine that I received - thank you! My dog Edwin, a Miniature Schnauzer, thought the place was great too, in particular the woods that surrounds the cottage where we would take our walks each morning (certainly beats the noise of Manchester traffic!). The village of Tomintoul is about two miles away and has a pub and a small, but well equipped village shop. All in all a great week away and great value for money. Thank you again to the owners - as the saying goes, I'll be back!
