RECENT CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Contact with the owners was positive and information was accurate. They really do look after their guests. Myrtle Cottage is in a fantastic location, there was real seclusion yet it is close enough to amenities. A genuine haven for wildlife. We will return and stay for 2 weeks next time.

This was a great location for a holiday with a dog. It was good for walking and seeing birds and animals. It was within easy travelling distance by car to all local towns.

Excellent accommodation in rural location
Before writing this review I was tempted to say nothing at all about this gem of a cottage, albeit, purely for selfish reasons - I wanted to keep the place a secret! Myrtle Cottage is without doubt one of the best places that I have stayed during my various stays in the Cairngorms. Its abundance of wildlife, including the Red Squirrels and the elusive Pine Martin, were an absolute delight. The owners, Phil and Jenny, were great, as was the welcome cake and bottle of wine that I received - thank you! My dog Edwin, a Miniature Schnauzer, thought the place was great too, in particular the woods that surrounds the cottage where we would take our walks each morning (certainly beats the noise of Manchester traffic!). The village of Tomintoul is about two miles away and has a pub and a small, but well equipped village shop. All in all a great week away and great value for money. Thank you again to the owners - as the saying goes, I'll be back!

The cottage is idyllically situated and the owners have done everything possible to attract wildlife, making one feel that you really are in the middle of the Cairngorms. I thought there was great attention to detail in equipping the cottage and catering for guests.

This was just the most wonderful and well-equipped cottage we've ever had the pleasure to stay in. The best parts I guess are the fact that there was everything you could possibly want, the views were stunning and the cottage itself was immaculately clean. We will definitely come back as a week wasn't really long enough.
