This detached cottage situated close to the village of Amroth in South Wales sleeps nine people in five bedrooms.

Silvretta is a detached cottage set in a quiet cul-de-sac, 1 mile from the village of Amroth in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. This cottage sleeps nine people in five bedrooms, consisting of one king-size double with en-suite shower and basin, two doubles, including one on the ground floor, a twin and a single, as well as a bathroom. The cottage also has a kitchen with dining area, a separate dining room and a sitting room.

Outside there's off road parking for four cars, a front seating area and a rear enclosed lawned garden with patio and furniture. Silvretta is an ideal base for a family holiday in this beautiful part of South Wales.

Shortly before going to this property, we discovered that we had actually paid over £700 more than the previous week, and £400 more than the following week, and. after 2 conversations with the agents, Sykes Cottages, re this colossal spike in the price, for just this one week, we were none the wiser. They maintained that the price was set by the owner, and not by them. After discovering that some aspects of the holiday were not up to standard ,eg cooker not clean, utility room was an outside garage, and was full of clutter and rubbish, and inhabited by large spiders hanging from the ceiling above the washing m/c,The Wifi was poor to non-existent, so we contacted the agents again, and pointed some of the issues out. There aren't 6 bathrooms, as advertised, but one complete bathroom with shower, one separate toilet and one shower in a bedroom. Three of the other bedrooms had just a washbasin and a mirror. There was not room enough around the table in the dining area for 9 people to eat together, so you eats in two sittings, and we thought that the whole of the property needed a good clean. especially in view of the price we had paid My grandson had to be freed twice from the bathroom because the lock needed attention, and the only smoke alarm that we could find in the property, had no battery in it. There is no way we would go back there because it is vastly over priced, in my opinion, and the reason for the one-off spike in the price, as the owner allegedly informed us, through the agents, was due to the large number of festivals and shows supposedly on that week?? The Tourist Board, nor Sykes Holidays, however ,could tell me what and where these were taking place, as I had checked with the tourism people before setting off. The upsides to the property are, it has a nice back garden and is situated in a nice quiet spot, but needs a lot more TLC ,and a thorough checking over by Sykes. We have been booking this type of holiday for many years now, and indeed have been on another two since, so we know what's good value for money, and this unfortunately wasn't! We put our complaints in writing when we returned home, and were told. ''Nothing we can do, but you can have £30 off your next holiday with us''.

Lovely accommodation in a quiet and lovely part of south Pembrokeshire. Lots of things to do locally whether sunny or wet. Nice hidden beaches and a local walk from Wiseman's Bridge to Saundersfoot which is unspolit.
