Even in poor weather the view is just stunning
Only one rule, which applies to all of Cumbria probably, follow the owners advice and switch off the sat-nav. Directions given to get there were correct, sat-nav tries for an earlier farm on the route from the south. A friendly welcome and a clean comfortable lodge. Nice to have a small dressing room in the double bedroom. Kitchen well stocked with pots and pans. Do take the time to visit Calbeck village a little place with a lot to offer.

Wonderful stay in a quiet corner of The Lakes
Just returned from an excellent week in Calva lodge with some friends and their dog. The accommodation is great -comfortable, modern and clean. Location is a farm tucked away in the north of the Lake District so if you?re looking for somewhere away from the busy tourist centres this is ideal. The small village of Caldbeck is is walkable or a short drive and has a pub and shop. Amongst other things we climbed Skiddaw and went mountain biking at Whinlatter forest park, both being relatively short drives away. Would definitely stay here again..

Fantastic stay in the snow!
Lodge is fantastic, spotlessly clean and has a fab wood burner. We needed it - although the lodge with the central heating and heated floors in bathrooms was nice and warm anyway. The weather was fab as it snowed and we had great fun on the moors with our Golden Retriever Molly. Views are fab from the front of the lodge. We had a drive to Pooley Bridge to see the devastation caused by the floods and to support the local businesses. GO - Granny Dowbekins! Yea we love this place so does Molly i.e. Doggy bags! Will be back in Aug for a slightly warmer stay - i.e. outside! It you're debating about staying, don't! Just book it - you will love it!

Excellent Christmas break
We stayed over Christmas and it is exactly what we wanted, away from busy life and in a secluded luxury lodge. The owners were very pleasant and helpful, the lodge was very clean, high spec and very luxurious. We loved the log burner (log supplied) and it heated the lodge very nicely. The surrounding area is beautiful and the view out of the living space was amazing. Locals in the village were very friendly but due to Christmas everything was shut so it would have been near impossible to get anything if you needed it. We would definitely return! Tip : farm is hard to locate, even with the help of the sat nav, look out for a large stone with the name of the farm faintly written in white

Absolutely perfect lakes get away!
We stayed in October as couples with our 2 dogs and couldn't have picked a better place. Great location, the lodges are beautifully designed and the hosts of the farm were so helpful and kind leaving us little local gifts on arrival. If your looking for a quiet escape with stunning views, walks on your door step and a luxurious place to crash at the end of a hard days walking-this is the place. No negatives to this little gem!
