Somerset Self Catering cottage, The Coach House, Wells, sleeps 6

Don?t stay there.
Only giving it a 2 and not a 1, because of the location and view. Lovely rural location but quite isolated. The house was much smaller than we hoped. Stayed there for a week and our adult sons and their girlfriends stayed for a few days. Sleeps six but may suit family with young children but not six adults. Living room too small and not even sofa/are chair seats to sit on. The kitchen had basic equipment but was very small. Garden looks much bigger in the picture but the picture is misleading as it is tiny. Not big enough for young children to run around. Low picket fence would not confine a large dog. MAIN PROBLEM: THE HOUSE IS ATTACHED TO THE OWNER?S HOUSE. They have annexed a small part of their large garden for the holiday house but their patio is next to the tiny back garden. Owners intolerant of noise. Complained that our arrival back at 11pm woke them up. Little understanding that we were on holiday and 11pm is not very late. Says dog friendly but the owner complained, when we left the dog alone in the house, so that we could go out for dinner. We were told that we ?were not allowed? to leave the dog in the house alone, even though this was not mentioned before we arrived. This was on day 2 of our seven days. This impromptu rule meant that we were forced to take the dog everywhere we went. The rest of the week had to be planned around activities where dogs were allowed, which spoilt our trip. Had to make two separate trips to Shepton Mallet prison so that one of us stayed with the dog. We had been advised not to approach the owner directly but email/text issues, which was fine. However the owner decided to break own rules by approaching one of our guests to complain, rather than us, who booked and paid for the house. Other rules, which were not outlined at the beginning, seemed to be changed on the whim of the owner. Would not recommend this to anyone.
