A lovely little thatched church. St Michael's features a striking octagonal font with figures of Christ and a pagan Green Man. The rood screen is beautifully painted, and there are quite curious carved bench ends. Medieval wall paintings on the nave walls add extra colour!

St Mary's, Islington, sounds like it ought to be found in the northern suburbs of London, but the name has nothing to do with the London borough of Islington, which also has a church dedicated to St Mary.

The church boasts a superb late medieval painted screen, a painted tympanum on boards depicting the Crucifixion, and a huge royal coat of arms to Elizabeth I.
