The facade of Liberty's on Great Marlborough Street in Westminster is one of London's best known commercial landmarks. The half-timbered design might look medieval but it was designed in 1922 by Edwin and E. Stanley Hall in emulation of Tudor arcades like the famous Chester Rows. The timbers came from two men-of-war, the HMS Impregnable and HMS Hindustan. This half-timbered facade is joined to a more conventional baroque style on the Regent Street side of the shop.
