Tiny little rustic piece of heaven Felt the need to leave a review because the old reviews on here don't do this little barn justice! We've just come back from a weekend at Little Pentre barn. It's a lovely little place full of antique nick knacks and squashy sofas, original wood and flagstone floors, set in the middle of the countryside. It looks and smells old (like sleeping in a museum!) Extremely picturesque, extremely quiet with little or no traffic. The barn itself was very clean with basic amenities- but then you can't expect ultra modern living if you're sleeping in a barn lol! The two single beds are up a tiny staircase in the kitchen, and both bedrooms are open plan with curtains for privacy. Floors are a bit creaky but that's to be expected in such an old property. This is a perfect location for children- and with a log fire also extremely romantic for a cosy couple's getaway. The any time access pool is obviously a bonus, as well as the amazing views and walks right outside your door. Lovely. Only downside was the decking area outside could do with a makeover but still perfectly usable. Recommended. 606terr 2019-08-07
Great location with fine views and the swimming pool was a big plus too. Peace and quiet and all in all a great place to stay Mr Stone 2016-07-31
We used the location as a music video set. The overall surroundings of the cottage was very tranquil and set the correct tone for our music video. The owner was very helpful in clarifying issues we had at the time. Mr Solanki 2013-03-18
Excellent location. Very quaint cottage. Friendly owner who had the log fire burning upon our arrival and had biscuits and a jug of milk so we could have a cuppa. Lovely taverns around the area including The boat and Cross Foxes. Went to Lion Quays spa for the day. Finished off going on the bikes to llandegla forest, which was awesome! Thanks. Parry 2013-02-17
Dont stay here it is filthy and unkept Little Pentre Barn was the worst holiday home we have ever stayed in ,The furnishing very worn and very dirty and in need of replacement . The living room had a wood burning stove which was very smelly and the house smelt of smoke all the time. There were so many cobwebs behind the curtains and around the house that we had to hoover the place when we arrived. The upstairs bedroom was tiny and the headroom above the bed was about 18inches and the lighting was above the length of the bed which was a hazard for children. There was daylight shining thruogh a wooden door in the bedroom and the ceiling was full of cobwebs and spiders. Its so bad that the children refused to sleep in the room so they ended up sleeping on the couch and a mattress on the floor. In main bedroom the pillows were a dirty brown colour and underneath the bed had inches of dust. There was even underwear in one of the drawers. The kitchen units and cupboards were all stained and in need of a paint. The freezer box in the fridge was all mouldy so we couldnt use it.The bathroom was the only nice room but after five days it blocked so we had enough and went to stay in a travelodge which cost us more money. The outside of the house was just as bad as the decking was rotten and you could not sit on it as it broke when you stood on it.When we came home we complained we complained to Sykes Holiday Cottages but the said it was the owners fault and refuse to help us.The owner was very unhelpful and said the house was clean but we took lots of photos to send to him and Sykes. The owner then refused to any contact unless it was through a solicitor. jemimaville 2013-01-30
