Beautiful
This is a cosy peaceful studio cottage set on a small farm. There are 5 cottages in all. It is up a narrow winding lane from the road from Keswick, set just under Skiddaw. The farm is very well kept with the cutest Ryedale sheep. It is possible to get there by public transport if you don't mind a mile walk from the bus. Supermarkets deliver here too which is handy. The gardens are beautiful, with wildflower areas and stunning views. It is so peaceful with loads of different birds, including a young magpie which tapped on the skylight every morning, little rabbits in the garden and owls hooting at night Randel is compact, perfect for one or two people the bed is comfy with high quality linen. The shower cubicle is on the small side but perfectly fine. Lots of hot water and towels were big and fluffy. The heated towel rail is a good feature. The kitchen had everything I needed, a pint of milk and a yummy banana cake were provided with some basics like tea, coffee, salt and pepper. The TV reception was good with plenty of freeview channels. No WiFi but I was able to get 4G. David and Jo are available if you need them and very helpful ....but they also give you full privacy. There are great walks from the door, Back o Skiddaw is a beautiful quiet area in which to walk. I did 11 Wainwrights while there. There is a pretty waterfall called Whitewater Dash which is worth a visit. The price was great value too, I booked direct rather than via an agent. I loved it, didn't want to leave. Once I have completed my Wainwrights I would love to return.

Stunning!
My husband and I stayed at Randel Cottage during October half term this year. Upon arrival, the cottage exceeded expectations and we were so pleased with what we found: the owners had left us cake, biscuits and milk in the fridge, they had put the heating on ready and there was a beautiful heart light above the bed that was switched on to greet us! The bathroom was nice, with an easy to use shower and continuous hot water. The kitchen had all the facilities you might need. The living area had a very comfortable bed, a sofa with a TV (has freeview and a video and dvd player) and there's a wardrobe and drawers/cupboard, so plenty of storage space. There's nothing I disliked about Randel Cottage, although don't expect much phone signal! I had a little but it was quite patchy. From the cottage, it was about a 10 minute drive into Keswick. I would certainly stay at Randel again and recommend it to others!

We loved the style of the cottage and looked forward to returning to it after our days of walking. We also enjoyed the games room. We will definitely return and are also thinking about a family break where we would rent the adjacent cottages too.

I loved it all really; the games room was good, loved the DVD library as well, the views were stunning and the pub nearby was good. The cottage would have been amazing for a romantic retreat, was not far from Keswick and good for walking places.

This cottage is situated in the perfect location for getting to Keswick and surrounding areas in the lakes. The cottage is a small romantic escape, surrounded by lovely farm land with plenty of walks. The Accomodation was clean and very well kept and it felt homely from the moment we arrived.
