Alma House Holiday
What a wonderful stay in this spacious stone cottage as a family of six. Cottage was organised to be covid friendly upon arrival, clean and tidy, spacious rooms, bed linen fresh and with extra provided. The owner was available 24/7 to provide helpful information. Local amenities a footstep away with friendly neighbours and villagers. Beautiful village green on your doorstep. A friendly cafe just round the corner called Copper Kettle, great place to eat, catered for all dietary needs with lovely owners. Would definitely recommend a booking to stay!

We were very impressed with Alma House, everything was of a good standard and we thoroughly enjoyed our weeks holiday. We have two small dogs and the area in the entrance where we could clean the dogs and leave our shoes and coats was a bonus. All the nearby pubs were dog friendly and we able to eat out each night. We will certainly be back!

Alma House is in a cracking location with walks from the doorstep and local pubs, cafes and shops just as close. The house was spotless and contained everything we needed. The open fire is lovely and easy to use. All in all we had a great week at Alma House and would definitely stay there again.

Generally good
First I would like to say that the house was a great house to stay at and would have got 5 stars had it not been for a few niggles that only came about due to it being winter.
The positives are location, cleanliness, log burner, comfiest beds in the world and just well appointed.
Down sides. No central heating. Bit of a biggie this one as it was winter and we had no where to dry things (towels etc) and it was rather chilly. They did provide small storage heaters which did very little to warm the house. Or us.
Next noisy plumbing. Caused a lot of hilarity at first as when the upstairs toilet flushed there were noises like a fog horn as the cistern filled. Owner it just needs new innards in the Torbeck valve. The downstairs toilet needs a new diaphragm in the syphon valve too.
Last but not least the bed room with telly in becomes uninhabitable when windy. After a bit of investigation we found it was the vertical tiles on the outside of the dormer windows aren't attached right and make a hell of a clatter when the wind gets them. Two f us had to sleep in the living room when the wind was up.
Hopefully these small items will get addressed as they spoil (to a small extent) what is a lovely property.
As mentioned by others watch out for the parking police next door. Most unfriendly. If you don't like living next to a rental, move. It's easier being on the green anyway.
