Amazing place to stay
We stayed hear for four nights over new year and had a wonderful time. The house is huge! Far bigger than it looks on photos. We were a group of 9 adults, a dog and a 2 month old baby and it was perfect. Some reviews say it was cold but we were absolutely fine. The owners provided a portable heater for the lounge but we didn?t need that all the time. There were also plenty of blankets for the rooms so we were all nice and warm. The kitchen was very well stocked, the aga was surprisingly easy to use and there was plenty of fridge and freezer space. We had nice warm showers each day, kept them quick to make the water last and it did most of the time. The owners were super friendly and always helpful if we had any questions. We had an incredible stay and would highly recommend this property!

Brilliantly situated
My sons wanted to stay in the area with their families so that we could all catch up and the children could go on the KWVR Santa Special. They rented this house and found it almost perfect. Bags of room, with ample accommodation for all of them - we were able to visit one night and have a meal there. I would be giving it five stars if the heating had been on longer and the wood left for the fire had been drier so we could warm ourselves up a bit!

Cold cold cold disappointed!
We arrived on Easter Monday in the snow with no heating in the house. Restricted central heating to 2 hours 5.30 to 7.30am and 5.30 to 7.30pm. Asked the owner to please increase the heat as we were cold and had a young baby in the party. We were told to "embrace the countryside", it's a big house and expensive to heat!! We were able to build an open fire eventually in a sitting room but directed to provide our own fuel as his was wet! One toilet didn't work and we were accused of its demise. Bathrooms mostly shabby. The location was delightful but we were disappointed at the attitude of the owner. Kitchen was a traditional country kitchen with aga for cooking and heating. Dishwasher was small not a family size for 10 people. We used showers to save water as suggested by the owner, but insufficient for all to have a warm shower each day. Limited water was also a problem when using the dishwasher. Games room was valued but cold. This house may be better in warm weather. Clearly we won't be returning.

Nice place but needs some work...
This is a well-located farmhouse at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The house is large and full of character. We were a party of 10 adults and there was plenty of room to chill out, cook and eat together but had enough places in the house to get some space. We enjoyed our week. The only downside was some of the interior and furniture needs updating. There's only one shower, the mattresses are super-soft and most of us didn't sleep that well, and some sofas were old and uncomfortable. The owner was more than helpful and looked after us well.

A great place to stay
An impressive grade 11 listed building full of character and the photos do not give it justice. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy and full of character and fully equipped for the large family. It has an arga oven in the kitchen pleasant enough way to cook when you are not cooking but a challenge for any good cook, plenty of utensils pots and pans available for the larger family. With sky TV for watching all the sports a variety of books available in all the rooms it could easily be mistaken for a library, and plenty of DVDs available for all ages. A pool room that is great source of entertainment for all the family to enjoy. The trampoline in the garden is great source of entertainment for the children and the large gardens are suitable for great day of a variety of outside games and the grass is maintained on a regular basis. There is no problem with the water and the shower and baths were always ready with hot water and never a drop kin presser. Be carful of the owners dog as you open the back door as he sneaks in without your knowledge, but never a problem. check out the website as it does what it says on the tin. There are plenty of place to visit with Settle only a few miles away and the market albeit only small is worth a visit. Settle has a goos variety of shops and can recommend the China China chines takeaway( no delivery ski-ton is only approx 15 miles away another great place to visit with plenty of attractions to suitable all ages, another great place for markets days. The cottage I would recommend to all families and children, check it out.
