I absolutely loved my stay here !! No fireworks to be heard (Bliss) walks outside the door to the forest and beyond.
The barn has a lovely mezzanine as you go upstairs with spectacular views, as do the rest of the rooms. My husband and i and my parents had a great week despite the weather being cold and windy we were nice and warm and still went for some interesting walks.

We had a lovely week at Blackburn Cottage Barn. I was expecting the property to be a bit dull and dated but it was absolutely lovely. With the large barn doors open the living room is airy and bright (although it was windy when we were there so the patio doors remained closed). The full height entrance hall with the large skylight is a particularly nice space and quite unexpected. The dogs enjoyed walks from the door (on leads due to sheep) and we found lots to do within easy reach. For us the location was perfect - very rural with stunning views but only 10 minutes from a small town with a few shops and a good Chinese takeaway. The cottage was well equipped and we had everything we needed.

Mrs
Booked up at the last minute wanted some where not to far as it was the first time for are puppy but wanted something in the middle of no where and we got what we asked for not not to far from the nearest shop what is about less than 3 miles away. The cottage it self is amazing big kitchen with everything you need. The bedrooms are quite big to the only down side is the tv is to small but other than that we could not fault it one bit and the dog loved it...

An extremely well presented and cosy cottage, standing in a stunning location on top of a hillside. The decor and furnishings were of a very high standard, and the cottage was well equipped with everything necessary for a short stay. The cottage was warm and welcoming, with amazing views from every window. A very quiet location, perfect for a restful getaway. The bunk beds and toys were great for children and the proximity to local walks and attractions such as the Weardale railway, made for a very enjoyable short break.

A gorgeous converted barn, slept amazingly. The location was beautiful, very remote, the photos don't do it justice. The owner was really helpful too.
