This charming thatched cottage is in the popular Dartmoor town of Chagford and sleeps up to 6 people in three bedrooms.

Set in a quiet hamlet in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park is charming Thorn Cottage. Chock full of original features including an attractive granite fireplace in the cosy lounge and beamed and sloping ceilings. The large dining room with wood burning stove is ideal for entertaining and the boot room is perfect for drying wet dogs.

On the first floor are three bedrooms tucked under the thatch, all with long rural views and sharing a family bathroom. A small enclosed cottage garden leads to a fenced one acre paddock with summerhouse and a deep unfenced lake.

A short distance away the perennially popular village of Chagford has independent shops, pubs and restaurants, an outdoor river-fed swimming pool (open from late May to early September) and a cricket club and recreation ground.

The perfect cottage to stay in
This is the perfect place to stay indeed. The cottage is beautiful, you have more than you can expect, a fantastic fireplace, cozy rooms, great light and every single detail is just amazing. Also the landscape, the surroundings and the great cream teas in town make this stay the perfect getaway for anyone.

Favourite Dartmoor Cottage
I have stayed at this charming cottage many times. It sits in a perfect location just outside the lovely village of Chagford with it's excellent pubs and restaurants. Thorn Cottage is the most delightful house I have stayed in during my many visits to Dartmoor. As soon as you step inside the cottage you feel completely at home. For those wanting to get away this is the place to escape to. A home from home for all seasons. The house and location is ideal for couples, families, dog lovers, ramblers, runners, cyclists, foodies, birdwatchers and couch potatoes! I love it and will be coming back in May.

just about perfection.....
Have read about Chagford many times and the hamlet of Thorn, 15 mins walk is an absolute beauty comfortable with amazing views you feel isolated but still within a thriving community I would say it is a 4 seasons cottage. In the winter you want to be sitting on the lawn by the private lake and in the summer those open fire places look so welcoming... well stocked and judging by the guest/visitors book I am not alone in my thoughts

Bliss
So luck to have found the lovely Thorn Cottage. We stayed late September & the colours were beautiful, the cottage it?self is just so quaint, homely & a real piece of history. Would recommended staying here if you like walking, great pub lunches, and real fires. Oh & our dog love it too, esp the moor. Stephen
