At the southern end of the Houses of Parliament stretches a lovely open park known as Victoria Tower Gardens. This is a comparative oasis of calm compared to the bustle around Parliament Square at the other extremity of the Houses of Parliament. You can sit on shaded benches and look out across the Thames to Lambeth or north towards the London Eye.
