London photo, Jerusalem Tavern

License this photo for your own use

London is full of historic inns. This is one such, the Jerusalem Tavern on Britton Street, in Clerkenwell. The inn was named after the Priory of St. John of Jerusalem, which was established in Clerkenwell in 1140. The Jerusalem Tavern in name has been around since the 14th century, and has occupied several locations in the Clerkenwell area, but the tavern has been established at this site since 1720.
