Farringdon Road roughly follows the course of the underground Fleet River. One of the most intriguing buildings along Farringdon Road is the Zeppelin Building, marked by this plaque. The plaque commemorates the occasion when a bomb dropped by a German Zeppelin air balloon in 1915 destroyed the previous building on the site.
