The distinctive outline of the Battersea Power Station is a London landmark. The disused power station is located immediately south east of the Chelsea Bridge. The station was designed to produce power from burning coal. It was built as two distinct structures; the first, Battersea A Power Station, was finished in 1935, and Battersea B Power Station was joined to the first in 1953.
