Fabulous apartment on great site!!
Just returned from a weeks stay with my 11,yr old grandson. The apartment was spotlessly clean, had everything you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday. Loved my room with the en suite and Finn fell in love with his bathroom, never known him to take so many showers!! He also loved hus bunk beds and fab flat screen TV in the living room. The kitchen was amazing everything very modern, even had a washer dryer, first time I've returned from a holiday with no dirty washing!! We used the site pool and also had lunch in the pub. The Bay us well situated for sightseeing. We visited Scarborough, Bridlington and Flamingo Land. Weather could have been better but never kept us in. Would highly recommend this lively apartment and would definitely return. Already have a friend interested!!!

Decent accommodation, superb private beach
Booked this from Tuesday to Saturday after the August bank holiday through Sykes Cottages, and unfortunately things didn't get off to a good start! Arrived to find that the apartment hadn't been cleaned or bedding changed from the previous occupants, and when I contacted the owner he said that he didn't do short breaks and couldn't understand why I had booked for 4 nights - turns out Sykes has started offering short breaks unbeknown to him. To be fair, a cleaner arrived very quickly so we made ourselves scarce to the private beach which was superb - short walk from the apartment to soft sand and clear water.
The apartment itself was fine, sizeable with plenty of household provisions, although the double bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable - time for an upgrade! En-suite to this room though and the showers were very good - kids' bunk beds also spot on.
Was surprised there was virtually no information about the site (The Bay) - possibly because this accommodation is independently owned? - or the surrounding area, save for a couple of takeaway menus - a bit more effort on this score would go a long way.
Would definitely stay at The Bay again but would book through The Bay rather than Sykes to avoid cleaning mix-ups and perhaps guarantee some little extra touches.

Fabulous home from home
Just returned from a week in The Periwinkle, booked through Sykes Cottages. Owner David provided fantastic service. The cottage is perfect for a family of 4. Our kids aged 10 & 5 loved their bunks. All the beds were lovely and comfy, we slept really well all week. Kitchen is well equipped and the living area is spacious with great TV/DVD for rainy afternoons. Good size family bathroom, clean and new and great having a little ensuite in master bedroom. The Bay is a lovely setting, with nice cosy pub. Beach is 10mins walk and if we'd had better weather we'd be there everyday. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this as a great base to explore the gorgeous East coast of Yorkshire

Great.
Stayed here for 7 nts with two children age 9 and 4. Lovely spacious and clean apartment. Well equipped kitchen including cleaning materials, bin bags, washer/drier and iron and board. Two good showers and big TV and DVD player. Location was great and easily accessible. Key arrangements were great and as promised. (Only gripe is a new door handle/lock is needed and perhaps new double bed.) No wi-Fi or Internet signal but not necessarily a bad thing! Good site but quiet and not a lot on outwith English school holidays but that was fine with us. On site pub was good but would recommend
booking. These beach was amazing but very steep hill down/up. We managed but would be hard with a buggy or wheelchair. I heard they have a kart service up and down their hill on request. Loads to do round about and perfect site for Scarborough, Bridlington, Flamingoland. Great farm for kids called Playdale farm a short drive away. Filey beach a must. Would return to this apartment.

Definitely not adult bunks...
Beds were too low with lumpy mattreses and the 'adult bunk bed' was inaccesible to all but small children. Otherwise a nice appartment in a lovely development. Location was good for visiting local area but the '3 minute walk to the beach' is only for the fit and nimble - it is VERY steep and the path has broken away at the bottom so you have to jump/scramble over rocks and pebbles to get onto the beach.
