We stayed here over Christmas! A lovely cottage for us and Sykes our Jack Russell, a welcome pack greeted us which was very nice and a Christmas tree with lights! Compact cottage which has every thing you need got used to the electric cooker, and a towel heater in shower room which was good to grab a warm towel when out of shower large fridge freezer ,ideal for beach walks which were very nearer called in to the Crasters Arms with our JR.and dogs were also allowed in the lovely little church , so Crasters Arms is near and the Hotel also allows dogs in .it's good to have Dog friendly places.all in all a great place to visit and stay!

Lovely week in Primrose Cottage
We have just got home from a really love week in Primrose Cottage. On the way up there I remembered several things that I'd forgotten but was pleasantly surprised to find them all in the cottage. It's a really lovely, homely place to stay. Well situated to visit surrounding places. The neighbours/locals are all very friendly people and Northumberland is very dog friendly which is lovely as the owner of 2 dogs. Definitely visit the beautiful harbour in Beadnell. I'd of happily spent all day watching the boats come and go. I'd highly recommend a stay in Primrose Cottage as it has everything you need and is like home from home. Thank you

would not go to primrose cottage again
after a 4 hour drive we went into Primrose Cottage to find the ceramic hob covered in oil, the bath contained the debris and body hair of the previous occupants, the mat in the bath was mouldy, the sealant around the bath was black mould, lots of dirt around the taps and behind the toilet. The storage heater in lounge could not be controlled, blasting constant heat out,it was old and stained with rusty feet. The laminate floor was "distressed" with many corners of the laminate broken. ALL the window frames were coated with fly droppings and months of dust, light switches and electric sockets had a layer of dust on them as did the light fittings, none of the above is what we expected to be included in the price of the property. A midweek rainfall treat us to a leaking roof at 4 am on the Wednesday morning which meant we could not remain there, the agents could not offer us any suitable alternative accomodation nearby, so after haggling with them (Sykes Cottages) we got a PARTIAL refund and set off home, very disapointing holiday which we had looked forward to for a long time. We will return to Beadnell but not to that cottage and not with that booking agent

very good - value for money - great location for beaches
This was a really nice place to stay ( and they accept dogs ! ) - the rooms were clean and tidy , the shower was modern and powerful , the kitchen was modern - the 2 leather couches were comfortable , and there were 3 great eating places within 3 mins walk - recommended - Tip , at road , turn right and walk round the corner of longstone park - then walk to end of road , then on left side is a shortcut ( right of way ) to main beach - and the lime kilns and harbour

Lovely cottage in a very interesting village
Cottage was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Owner had thoughtfully left bread, milk, tea, coffee - very welcome after a long journey. Facilities even better than in the current Trip Advisor pictures - a lovely flat screen tv on the wall, and wifi. Great for watching the tennis in the evenings. A quick read of the visitors book shows most other guests brought a dog along (dogs loved the beach and the sea), but not a trace of dog hairs or smells anywhere. Cottage is just 5 mins walk from the beach and village shop. A nice pub as well, but packed out because it was half term. Lovely unspoilt beaches in Beadnell and 2 miles walk to Seahouses (north) and Newton on Sea (south). Very interesting local history book available from the village shop. Worth a read and a walk around the village, book in hand.
