RECENT CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Awful experience.
We arrived at the cottage to discover that it was filthy.
The carpets were dirty and in poor condition. The sofas were dirty, there were remnants of food under the cushions. There were no mattress protectors and the mattress on the double bed was stained.
The cooker/microwave were filthy. There was lots of dust. There was a mouse trap behind the washing machine. Also, a rat trap in a bathroom cupboard that led to the roof space. There was mould in the bathroom and a hole in the floor had just been stuffed with a rag!
The tea towel had stains on it. The cleaning sponges left for our use were old ones, which had clearly been used many times before.
The road outside is very busy, it is a main route for some very large vehicles. You could not walk into the village from the cottage, the road is too busy.
The reviews we read before we booked were so misleading.
It was so dirty that we could not stay here. We had booked through Sykes Cottages, so I contacted them. As there was no way the issues could be put right in a short timescale, they agreed to refund our monies.
Unfortunately, as it was peak season, we could not find alternative accommodation in the area at such short notice. We had no option but to return home. This was obviously very disappointing as we had booked leave from work, which could not be changed at such a late stage.
Sykes did provide some compensation for the inconvenience. However, the planned break in Wales was what we needed.

An absolutely delightful property. The cottage was spotless and no detail was overlooked. Spent a fantastic week walking, and coming home to the cottage was a bonus. Everything is exactly as described and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to friends or family.
