CooWee to Cooinda
What a location! The breathtaking views of the nearly Loch Morar are an instant hit, which can be quickly followed by wonderful walks alongside it and to the beach on the other side of the town. The flat itself was spacious enough for our party of 3 and provided the basics for our stay. The seating was less comfortable than we would have liked and the awkwardness of the shower arrangement, because of the sloping roof, took a little getting used to. But these are minor gripes and we were very happy, especially when engaging with the local deer, some of whom are tame enough to be fed and stroked.

Spacious for family stay with teenagers
Very clean, home from home. Plenty of room for family to spread out but still good size lounge/ kitchen/diner for all to come together.
Good location in peaceful surroundings with walks straight from door to 'Silver sands' beach and Loch Morar where you can hire Kyacks.
Great base to come home to and cool off/dry out whatever the weather.

Perfect base to Explore!
Myself, my wife and parents-in-law stayed here for a weekend and it's a lovely place to base yourself to explore the amazing scenery of this part of Scotland. We've stayed all over Scotland and this place ranks highly.
The flat itself is well kitted out, kitchen is great with plates, bowls, cutlery and pans. There is a good fridge, TV and full Sky TV. The views from the living room are awesome. The only complaint was from the parents who found the lack of a stand-up shower quite a stress trying to manoeuvre in the bath. It has a shower hose, but it hangs at waist height. There is a seat in the bath though so you can sort something out. Would not stop us coming back though!
Being in the back end of beyond, WiFi is slow, but I picked up 4g here so no problem if you have data and honestly, there is plenty to do so just put the phone and laptop away!!
Mallaig and Arisaig are only a few miles either side so you can get a beer, go to the shop or find a place to eat very easily.

A fabulous Base for Mallaig
If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay and at a reasonable price...then this is it!
My husband, my mother in law and my uncle in law had a great stay here.
The view from the open plan living room of Loch Morar is beautiful and changes hourly. The nightly visits of deer and sheep could be viewed from the window. Bliss!
The flat is above the owner's house but totally private. We did not hear or see the owner for our entire stay! So peaceful. The only warning I would say is that the sloping ceilings can be a hazard for tall people. My husband is 6ft 1 and on occasion bumped his head on the hall roof. However he says this would not stop him coming back. I however had no problems being 5ft 2!
Mallaig is only a short drive away with plenty of eating places with set times 12- 2 or 5pm onwards. You can get snacks etc at the many tearooms all day.
If like me you attend mass on a Sunday then there are plenty of churches..one being 2 minutes walk from this flat. Another in Mallaig too.
We explored the whole area. A must is the walk to Morar and a short climb to the cross. The views are lovely.
The many beaches around this area are wonderful. My favourite was at Traigh Golf course. I spent several hours reading whilst my husband played golf. He was able to hire clubs. 3 hours on the beaach and it was sunny. Scotland in the sun!
We also did a day visit to Skye. Got the 12 ferry and the last ferry back at 7pm. It too was a great day.
We wish to thank the owner for a great stay and having WiFi and sky TV on a wet day came in handy too!
