Perfect!
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this lovely, cosy and quaint cottage. It was very clean and welcoming with cake, wine and doggy treats for us and pooch to enjoy. It is very well positioned and within easy access to all the tourist attractions and areas and only 3 miles away from the beautiful village of Warkworth where a visit to The Masons Arms is a must for a lovely meal. The pub is dog friendly and the staff are very welcoming. The cottage is within earshot of a live railway line but the sound of the trains did not cause any problems whatsoever. In fact it adds to the charm! Steph and Robson, the owners, were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. They were on hand if we needed anything but not invasive at all. We will definitely be returning to this gorgeous gem of a cottage very soon. Thank you Steph and Robson.

Lovely cottage
Spent a week at Shunting Cottage which was originally part of the Aklington station outbuildings. Station is still operational but surprisingly the train noise was minimal and didn't spoil our visit. The cottage is a good size and Steph the owner keeps it lovely and clean. Steph is also a very good host, very helpful and and lives in the house adjoining the cottage. The surrounding area is beautiful and the nearby beaches at Druridge Bay and Warkworth are stunning. The nearby Warkworth village is also very pretty and has a castle. So many beautiful places within 20 miles . Would definitely come back . Great places to eat are the Masons Arms, Warkworth and Northumberland Arms West Thirston (3 miles away)
