Quaint cottage in Moelfre, Anglesey. 5 minute walk to the beach and eateries. Further amenities 10 minute drive.

Village shop 5 minute walk. TV and DVD player, games, books and DVDs.

Tegfan has been lovingly restored and renovated. It has gardens to the front and rear and offers a relaxing holiday environment right in the heart of the charming coastal village of Moelfre, on the east coast of Anglesey. The well equipped kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster.

There is a breakfast bar and door opening onto the rear garden. There are three bedrooms. Two bedrooms, a double and twin, are on the ground floor.

There is a ground floor bathroom with bath with shower over, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. Stairs from the dining area lead to a further double bedroom. The front and rear garden have a lawn and shrubs.

There is parking for one car (this quaint little fishing village does have some narrow lanes and as a result parking can be a little challenging) Moelfre is one of the prettiest villages on Anglesey with a local pub, cafe and shop close to hand, in addition to the Seawatch Centre a small museum and shop with the fascinating maritime history of the area, and the recently rebuilt RNLI station. The small sheltered shingle bay is just a short stroll from the cottage where you can enjoy home made ice cream or explore the area's spectacular scenery by using the coastal path where you can walk to Lligwy Beach, a popular sandy beach or head off to Benllech and it's Blue Flag Beach. Perfect holiday cottage for couples or families in the historic and picturesque harbour village of Moelfre.

Filthy
We arrived at the cottage at 5 to find it had not been cleaned at all - no bedding/towels etc/dirty kitchen and bathroom. No spare bedding to use.Cleaners/owners could not be contacted at the time and we were advised by the booking company to go for a meal /walk somewhere while it was sorted. We eventually gained access to the cottage but it was still dirty, bits of food on the crockery and dead skin in the bath. Very very poor, especially as I had been assured that it would be given a deep clean. At £578 for two nights, it should spotless. The area of Moelfe is beautiful and well situated for touring the rest of the island. There are plenty of walks/footpaths to explore. Lots of wildlife/flora to see locally. Plenty of places of historic interest locally, especially maritime history. Sadly the experience at this particular cottage put a dampener on our short break.

Such a shame, could have been 5 star
Firstly the good point , the cottage is situated in a wonderful, central location . However, the cottage was a bit of a let down. In these trying times, it can be as bare as it likes, as old as it likes, but it does have to be clean. We did feel that although the bathroom was clean, the rest of the property was grubby. In the kitchen there were crumbs in the cupboard, oil in the bottom of one of the drawers, and greasy fingerprints on the microwave . There were marks in the main room window ledges, and food down the groves on the dining room chairs. Finding this doesn?t make to reassure the visitors that it was either clean or indeed sanitised. Coupled with the paint peeling off the veranda at the front really didn?t make it appealing at all. Such a shame as it could be tremendous with a little care.
