Lovely cottage in mid Devon
We absolutely loved our stay at the Bolthole. The cottage has everything you could need for a week away. The kitchen is very well equipped, the rooms are spacious, the bathroom is luxurious with a huge bath and there is a BBQ in the lovely garden that gets sunshine all day. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival and the host had left us lots of little treats, including prossecco, sweets for the kids, a gorgeous homemade cake and some chocolates. She really has thought of everything. And the fire/log burner is perfect after a day out rambling, it throws out lots of heat and is very easy to use/light.
You are a short drive away from some of dartmoor's loveliest walks (Postbridge and Dartmeet were very good) and a slightly further drive of about 45 minutes gets you to South Devon's beaches, we went to Dawlish and Teignmouth, which were both lovely. The pub opposite the cottage is a quirky little find, only open on Friday and Sunday when we were there but well worth a visit!
We had such a good time and hope to be back soon.

A beautiful cottage in Wonson
A clean tidy cottage, arrived to milk, tea, coffee and a homemade cake! Nothing is too much trouble for the owner who goes out of her way to make sure everything is there for your stay!
Clean, tidy and not a cobweb insight!
Even provides logs for the fire!

Over-priced
This is a great location for walking on the moors. It is also only about an hour from the west coast and the beaches. The lanes are incredibly narrow so if you don't like not knowing what's around the corner and reversing yards to a passIng place then this is not for you as you have to travel about 4 miles in any direction to get to a two lane road. The property is about 4 miles from the nearest shops but there is a good pub right opposite and in the same yard.
The property itself is over-priced with no washing machine, the smallest of fridges and one from which we had to mop water up, limited work surface, no hairdryer, a to that spontaneously turned itself off once an evening, and more cobwebs and spiders than I've seen in a rented property of this price. We did give feedback half way through the two week holiday to Helpful holidays and they passed this on to the owner of the property who did what she could to at least remedy the fridge situation. She was unable to get a new one immediately but at least there was willingness. However, despite " refreshing" the place with clean towels and sheets, there was no attempt to clear the numerous cobwebs. The owner is new and I have not doubt that she will do what she can to remedy the issues raised as she was very amenable.
