Fabulous week in the Yorkshire Moors
Just finished a fabulous week at Beckside in the Yorkshire Moors. Lastingham is a beautiful village on the edge of Yorkshire moorland, and Beckside is a brilliant little cottage in which to stay. It?s very compact but has everything you need to make your stay homely and comfortable, with a well equipped if small kitchen. We ate in half the time. The owners, Robyn and Alan, live in the adjacent building. They are very friendly and helpful but never intrusive. There are so many footpaths from Lastingham that you can walk every day without the need to drive. The village pub The Blacksmiths Arms is very friendly, very quaint, has great beers on tap and serves very good pub food. We were lucky to enjoy warm sunny weather, making this a truly fabulous week in the Yorkshire Moors.

Lovely cottage
What a lovely little cottage it's small & compact but got everything you need, the owner was there if you needed him but left us to our own devises. It was lovely to be able to go back at the end of our day out & sit outside with a drink listening to all the birds & the running water it's so peaceful & relaxing. Lovely quiet little village with sheep roaming around would definitely recommend to anyone (be prepared to feed the birds) & we would love to stay here again

Brilliant cottage & village
Brilliant cottage with beautiful scenery. A private bench allows you to sit in peace with the river flowing in front of you. The cottage has everything you need & the owners are very lovely should you need anything. The pub is 5 mins away. Good parking spaces available. Highly recommend this property.
