North York Moors Self Catering cottage, Cow Byre Cottage, Wrelton, sleeps 2
Areas: North York Moors
Sleeps a maximum of: 2
Pricing From: £239
Converted from an old cow byre, this property is situated in a small, but historically fascinating village, which has easy access to most of the attractions that the region has to offer.
This property is a Grade II listed building, brimming with character. Much of its original charm has been retained through exposed beams and wall-timbers, wooden floors and a galleried bedroom. There is a double bedroom beautifully decorated to create a peaceful haven at the end of the day and the airy, open plan living area has a very âFrench Countryâ feel.
A walled front garden offers ample opportunity for al fresco dining in the summer, while full central heating and a flame-effect electric fire keep the cold at bay in the winter months.

Peaceful and comfortable base from which to explore North Yorkshire
The cottage is set in a secluded courtyard with a privet patio area. The accommodation is very well appointed and equipped throughout with more than enough space for a couple.
The owners were very welcoming and helpful and made us feel at home from the outset.
Great base from which to explore the coast (Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods bay etc), the moors for walking and the North Yorks Abbeys (Rievaulx, Byland etc).Loads to see and do in the area.
Highly recommended and hope to stay again in the future.

A solid, comfortable cottage
We stayed here for a week and appreciated the solidity and privacy of the cottage; the off-road parking; high standard of equipment (shower, cooker, TV) that was easy to use; a comfortable bed and cleanliness of the cottage. A good base from which to visit North Yorkshire, including a regular bus service to nearby market towns. The owners were friendly, live nearby but not intrusive.

The cottage was excellent in a beautiful quiet village, perfect for relaxing. It had all the amenities we required and was close enough to visit York (by car) or walk into Pickering. We had stayed in this cottage once before and were very happy to return.

The layout of the Cottage with the lounge area on the first floor made the most of the afternoon and evening sun. We certainly recommend this Cottage for a peaceful stay.
