With eight bedrooms and capable of sleeping up to 20 people in spacious comfort, this superb property is an excellent location for a large family gathering or group of friends looking to explore the spectacular countryside surroundings.

Situated on the downs above the ancient resort of Lyme Regis is this stunning barn conversion. Set within the grounds of the owner's working sheep farm and country clothing business, this property has been skilfully renovated to provide a comfortable holiday home for families or groups of friends. There are en suite facilities attached to most of the eight bedrooms as well as a large sitting room with beamed ceiling and a well-equipped kitchen. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the property boasts excellent views and is close to a selection of great walking routes and footpaths, as well as the other amenities and attractions of the area.

Big but.....needs TLC & a good clean
We were a party of 12 and we stayed for a week in August. Our reception was warm and included fresh eggs from the farm chickens. The linen and towels are of good quality and there is plenty of hot water for showers. The ground floor is dedicated to two large matching tables that seat 14 and a lot of leather settees. Great for a communal night in! The property is great for Lyme Regis and a stones throw from River Cottage (book well ahead if you want to go there). However you do need a car no matter what anyone says as it is just too far and hilly to walk to pubs and shops. The downside is there was no wifi, and it really needs a good clean from top to toe. The upstairs windows were very dirty, some hot water taps did not work (which we reported) and 50% of the showers had no wall fittings so you had to hold the shower yourself. There are no smoke alarms in the kitchen area and the ovens need a really good clean. The front door handle doesn't work. We had a toddler so had to move settees to retrieve things that he threw under them and it was clear from the things we found that they had not been moved in a long time. However overall we enjoyed our stay. It's hard to find properties with lots of ensuite rooms that are pet friendly. With some investment and TLC this could be a super place to stay.

Property unloved
Ample space for dining and sitting for a large number of people. We stayed with friends and family to celebrate a birthday. The ensuites however were of poor quality and definitely not spotless. The whole place felt rather neglected.Much could have been done to improve the outside sitting area and a BBQ would have been great.

Spacious accommodation for family of 15
I took the family for the October half term. The weather was mixed and it was disappointing that there was no DVD player for the rainy times. The dining area was excellent also the lounge, plenty of seating. The kitchen was divided in two and inadequate for family cooking. If you are taking very little children be aware there is no bath. The beds were comfortable and the linen beautifully crisp, clean and inviting. Generally the accommodation was quite tired but suitable for us as we had 6 children aged 9 and under.

"Perfect space for a wonderful weekend. Comfortable, warm, spacious and cosy property with nice rooms. Lovely owner who was very hospitable."
