Perfect!!
Absolutely perfect!! Cottage is lovley! Proper home from home....everything you need and more. Peace and quite, lovley beach!! Comfy beds,Wi-Fi...which my son was happy with as he fetched his ps4 lol, lovley conservatory over looking the garden and feilds. Bathroom is fantastic, overall the cottage is awesome....ignore any stupid comments regarding Jackie (caretaker) she is lovley. Gave us a proper welcome and shown us around the cottage. She doesn't invade your privacy what so ever and does not feel like you are being watched at all!! Infact its proper handy having her at the end of the close in case of any problems. In all, shes great..the cottage and location are amazing! 100% coming back!!!!!!!!

Excellent Home From Home Property
Back again to a beautifully well appointed and clean holiday property.... A warm welcome awaits you from caretaker Judith who cannot do enough for you to make your stay stress free. The property is comfortable, modern and has everything you may need and the conservatory overlooking a small garden is very much a winner as it looks out on the local hillside. The property is ideally set close to the beach and within close distance to all that beautiful snowdonia has to offer. I would give 10 out of 10 as this is our favourite family holiday and hope to be back again next year...A huge thank you:)

Do not stay here - holiday grinch alert.
I?d read about the caretaker but didn?t think it would be an issue - just a quiet week for me and the dog, with my mum, sister and 22 month niece coming for a couple of days. No parties, no noise, so nothing to worry the caretaker... right? So wrong... Firstly, the house if quite nice, and the location is fab. There is a broken floorboard in the master bedroom that made me feel I was going to fall through, the oven seal has gone, so I tried cooking the first couple of days then unfortunately had to survive on takeaways for the rest of the week as it was part cooked or part burnt. The sofa is the colour and texture of slate. End of season, so lots of cracked crockery and glassware. But all doable for a week. The caretaker (and husband) found three unnecessary reasons in the week to come over. But with their house diagonally across with a view in to the garden and conservatory, I felt watched all week. I got so uncomfortable I checked inside for cameras... creepy. I sat in the garden a couple of times but couldn?t stay there. I like to read in the conservatory but didn?t feel comfortable doing that. Even the downstairs loo is in their sight line. But the weather was fab and the beach is amazing, so I got some cushions for the conservatory for the couch and made it ok. So I adapted and had a lovely week. As a disclaimer, I suffer from anxiety, so I book a cottage every year around the same time so I can be alone (with the dog) by the beach to chill out. I hadn?t been quite as comfortable in the house, but the rest had worked. Saturday morning I packed up and loaded the car, had a bacon sandwich for the journey, so loaded the grill pan and plate, mug etc in the dishwasher and switched it on. Did all the recycling and collected the dog poo from the garden. Car loaded for 10am. I went back out to the garden to do a last check for dog poo (they are pesky) and the caretaker arrived. I came in and explained I was all loaded but doing a last check. She went upstairs to strip the bed (the others had been done midweek...). I waited downstairs to say goodbye and wanted to mention the oven / floorboard etc. I didn?t get a chance. Apparently my being ?late? leaving had ruined her plans for the day. I apologised and she said I hadn?t left the place very tidy. I asked what she meant - the cushions from the conservatory on the couch, sand from my shoes in the vestibule, the placemats were set out for eating, not in the middle of the table... I got the brush pan and brush to the sand in the vestibule and went back in. I was told I had a hoover and brush in the garage that I should have used and that's why I paid a cleaning deposit. Alarm bells went off... I had scrubbed the kitchen and the rest was in need of a final polish for the next visitors, nothing more. So I had to take photos of each room so that there is no claim on my deposit. She's attacking me the whole time that this is all in the T&C's and the owner must have told me (no, he didn?t tell me that I was paying so much money to personally prepare the house for the next lot of holiday makers). She told me again that I had spoiled her plans for the day and did I realise I had left he dishwasher on? Who exactly did I think was going to have to empty that when it was finished?... I got back in my car and even photographed the clock in the car - 10:11am. I did stay on the drive for a while after this as I was shaking too much to drive. I?ve rented cottages every year across North Wales and consider myself to be thoughtful of the job caretakers / owners have to do once I leave. My photos of this house prove this. But this holiday grinch ruined my whole week. I still can?t believe it. I feel very sorry for someone who lives in such a beautiful place with such an ugly outlook.

Lovely area with lots to do. Abrupt housekeeper and condescending owner.
Enjoyed the area however would not recommend the house. The dishwasher did not work and some of the cupboard hinges were broken. The housekeeper lives 2 doors down and keeps a very close eye on the place. I have stayed in far better places for a lesser cost.

Fantastic property..................... But!!
My husband and I booked this property as a last minute getaway for Easter, it is a fabulous house, very modern, very clean & comfortable with all the amenities you could wish for except wifi, and lovely views to the rear, also only a 10 minute walk to the stunning beach at Black rock sands. However, there is a female "caretaker" mentioning no names, whom I must say was very helpful on arrival however, she literally watches the house on behalf of the owner, plus her own house overlooks from a short distance into the garden and into conservatory at the rear of the rental property. I have to say she certainly liked to keep an eye on the place..and blatent about it, ie: seperating her vertical blinds to look over, slowing down in her car to look into the property as she drove past etc, I appreciate she's looking after the house, but I felt it was an invasion of privacy and noticed that a few others who had rented this property previously had written similar things regarding being watched in the visitors book.. It made me feel as an adult that I wasn't trusted and "Big Brother" was watching me... It's a shame really, as she is the only reason I would not go back to this property, Maybe it's because I'm a very private person and felt I should have been able to enjoy my 4 night stay especially with the cost of the rental due to it being Easter, but I couldn't relax knowing I was being watched at her every opportunity. I would highly recommend the property if you can cope with the "Caretaker's" eyes.. I did leave a review to this effect on Sykes Cottages website when it was they requested I write a review, however, it has never been added to their online reviews page, or indeed have any similar reviews from the others who clearly felt they were being watched too. If so, I would have obviously chosen a different property. This is a fantastic house, I'm not writing all this to be nasty, it's just to be honest and let others know this is likely to happen to you too......It's your choice, just not the kind of thing I expected whilst renting a holiday home.
