Perfect base for a family. Spacious with high ceilings and parking. What a delightful surprise. My grown up children booked this as my birthday present so i knew nothing until I arrived. Having stayed in several Yorkshire cottages this is the best so far; really-spacious and plenty of room for 4 adults and all their gear. So warm and cosy that we decided not to light the open fire. Off street parking for 2 cars and it was easy to park a third in a nearby street. Fabulous walks - some direct from the house and so you wouldn't always need a car. Easy walking distance to the local shops including a couple a 'proper' outdoor shops with a good selection of kit. Also a fish and chip shop; near enough to walk to but far enough away not to be smelt. Very comfortable and large bed in the master bedroom and newly refurbished shower room. Very friendly and genuine owner. witsend33 2017-03-13
A warm and friendly home away from home. We booked this property for one month and found it to be the best rental we have ever had.
It was scrupulously clean, beautiful linens and towels, everything we needed was there for our comfort. The views of the river and hills were divine and off street parking was a big plus.
It was a short 5 minute stroll to the centre of town and 2 minutes to Booths supermarket.
We used the house as a base for day trips to The Lakes, Morecombe Bay, Hadrians Wall , York and of course the Dales and villages in the area. The owners live nearby and were always available to help us with directions and walks. The house was lovely to come home to after a day's adventuring. Plenty of hot water and great Wifi to send our photos off to family and friends.
I highly recommend this lovely home away from home and please treat it with respect so that others can enjoy it as well. Leonie S 2016-07-13
A warm and welcoming home away from home with everything you could possibly require. It had beautiful linen and fluffy soft towels. The property is spotlessly clean. To be greeted by the owners on arrival was extra special. The off street parking was marvellous as was the prompt attention from the owners to our many enquiries and requests. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the river from most windows and the close proximity to glorious walks in the Dales, the Lakes District, Morecambe Bay, pubs, shops and the station. A very clean and cosy property with comfortable beds and luxurious bedding. The location was perfect for exploring the dales and the three peaks walk. The footpath along the edge of the river is good for short or long walks for all ages, with interesting wildlife to see. Collins 2016-04-23
Charming and comfortable cottage in the Yorkshire Dales This cottage is very clean and cosy with all facilities needed to have both an active or relaxing stay in the yorkshire dales. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. It is located next to the river Ribble and ducks come and perch on the garden wall. A good Dales bus service enabled grandparents to go off independently to Skipton market and ingleton and other towns while we went walking across the dales with our 10 year old. It is a short walk into the centre of settle where many high quality real ales and food is served in friendly pubs. Horton in Ribblesdale is only 6 miles away making this a great base for the three peaks challenge. We also visited Malham cove and Goredale Scar.
There is a small swimming pool across the road from the cottage which has a comfortable water temperature and has a ?1 swim in the week in term time which was fantastic value and a lovely way to relax your muscles after a big walk. We felt rejuvenated after this holiday and found the whole area of the yorkshire dales charming and friendly. Jeanette C 2016-04-23
